Southern Family Supper | Pork Chops & Onion Gravy
We are continuing to pray for all those who have been affected by the damages of hurricane Helene and those in the path of Milton. πŸ™ There are so many places to make donations to help, I will list some here, but even if you can’t help monetarily, please pray.

Pork Chops & Onion Gravy
Ingredients:

For the Pork Chops:
oil for cooking
6-9 boneless pork chops
1 TB salt
1 1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp ground sage

For the Gravy:
Drippings left from cooking chops
1 onion, diced
1 15oz can beef broth
1/2 cup sour cream
2 tsp spicy brown mustard
1 to 2 TB all purpose flour

Directions:
Heat 2 to 3 TB oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
In a small bowl mix the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and sage to season chops.
Season pork chops on both sides.
Add to skillet and cook 3-4 minutes per side, turning down heat when needed, until pork chops are cooked through.

Set pork chops aside and start the gravy.

In the same skillet add the onion and cook 2 minutes.
In a bowl mix the sour cream, mustard, and flour.
Add the beef broth to the skillet and bring to a simmer.
When it begins to simmer add the sour cream mixture.
Let simmer 2-4 minutes and then turn down to low heat.
Serve gravy over pork chops!

It’s so easy, cool your pork chops whatever seasoning you want, keep drippings in pan, sautΓ© a purple onion with some sugar, add 2 cups of whole milk or heavy cream stir in a packet of Turkey gravy add pork chops back it’s so yummy! I cut small yellow potatoes in half boil til soft, drain the water & add a stick of butter and parsley we have that with the pork chops. Delicious!

  10. I want to share with you a recipe I make of onion gravy. I got it from my mother-in-law years ago and she said it was from the depression years. She and my father-in-law experienced the depression so she had lots of depression recipes. Cut an onion in half and slice each half thinly into long pieces. In a fry pan melt enough shortening to cook the onion in. For a large onion I use about 5 – 7 Tbs of shortening. You want extra in the pan. Cook the onion until soft, then sprinkle on enough flour to coat the onion after it is stirred in. Add salt and pepper and then slowly add in milk and keep stirring until you get the consistency of gravy that you want. It is really wonderful gravy and so delicious. Taste before finishing and add more salt and pepper if needed. I have good friends in Winter Springs Florida, a suberb of Orlando. Please pray for them. Not sure if they are evacuating or not. It is a mother and daughter. The daughter is in her mid 60's and the mother is 92.

  19. Your little man is so sweet . His boots are 7 yrs old God Bless him ❀️I have 2 grown boys and 4 granddaughters ages 2,3,4,7 and the things they say are so sweet too .My 7 yr old granddaughter loves to help me in the kitchen like Audra helps you , it’s so much fun ❀️

  22. We are here in Central Florida and about 49 miles northeast of Tampa and right now it looks as if we may get a cat 3 by late tomorrow afternoon or early Thursday morning. Many in our great state have evacuated. We have family in Tampa and also on Treasure Island but they have evacuated. We are here at home as we live in a lil higher area n we have supplies, generator and our pets are safe too. Thank you everyone for your many prayers and love and as I said before we are trusting in Psalm 91!! Love the Moss Family and your kids are so sweet and Manley is such a sweet blessing too!!   29. Oh my gersh, Manny cracks me upπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. We had a trampoline in our teen years. My date jumped forward instead of up once & dug up the yard with his chin. Spent our date at the emergency room. I found it amusing…he didn't.😬
