Amish Cinnamon Bread is a super easy recipe and is perfect for busy families. This delicious dessert bread has a ribbon of cinnamon sugar running through it and a cinnamon topping making it a wonderful sweet treat! #cinnamonbread #dessert #bread
FOR THE BREAD:
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, room temperature
2 cups granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups buttermilk
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
FOR THE CINNAMON-SUGAR FILLING/ TOPPING:
⅔ cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
** you may have more than you need depending on your preference
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease two 9×5-inch loaf pans and set aside.
Sprinkle oiled pans with cinnamon-sugar-optional
In a small bowl, combine the cinnamon-sugar topping ingredients and mix well.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla using a handheld mixer. Using a rubber spatula, add the buttermilk, flour, and baking soda just until combined.
Divide half of the batter between the two prepared pans. Evenly sprinkle three-fourths of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the batter in both pans. Spread the remaining batter evenly over the top of both pans. Evenly sprinkle the remaining cinnamon-sugar over the top of both loaves. With a butter knife, cut a few swirl marks through the batter in both pans.
Bake for 45-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center tests clean.
Allow the bread to cool for 20 minutes in the pan before removing to wire racks to cool completely.
I enjoy one now and freeze the other loaf for a quick dessert or breakfast later.
Or gift the second loaf 🙂

Thank you for this recipe I just made a batch and added pineapple to one with cinnamon on top.
Can you use whole milk instead of buttermilk
You need to adjust the instructions on your recipe because you need bigger pans. The pan zoo recommended are too small They made a mess of my oven

I’ll have to convert the ingredients to grams or ounces, and the temperature to Celsius. It looks delicious. Best wishes from the UK 🇬🇧 ❤😊
At 1:11 you pointed to the baking soda and referred to it as baking powder. That was confusing, so glad you put the recipe in the description.
