I make this Ground Meat and Turmeric Rice almost weekly. Most times I eat it on its own, or sometimes I add veggies. When I am having a lazy morning I fry an egg, place it on top, and call it breakfast. It’s the best

Here’s What You’ll Need:

▫️Ground lamb, ground beef, or meat of choice (can even use soyrizo, but I would skip the spices if doing so)
▫️1/2 tsp cayenne pepper, optional
▫️1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
▫️1 tsp paprika
▫️2 tsp cumin
▫️1 white onion
▫️1 tbsp beef tallow or cooking oil

Turmeric Rice
▫️1 tbsp turmeric powder
▫️1/2 tsp ginger powder
▫️2.5 Beef Bone Broth or broth of choice
▫️2 cups rice
▫️1 15oz can chickpeas, rinsed and drained
▫️1/4 cup Fresh parsley (or cilantro)
▫️5 garlic cloves minced

1. In a large pot over medium heat, add cooking oil and saute onions for a few minutes. Then cook the ground lamb (or meat of choice) with the chopped onion and spices. Stir occasionally until the meat is browned and cooked through, then remove it from the pan and set aside.

2. In the same pot, sauté the minced garlic for about one minute, until fragrant. Add the rice and spices. Mix well, then add the broth, chickpeas, and fresh herbs. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and let simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is cooked.

3. Stir the cooked lamb back into the pot. Adjust seasonings to taste, top with fresh parsley, sliced lemon, and serve warm!
