1. Boiled eggs- You can purchase eggs already boiled and add butter, salt, mayo, or sour cream for added healthy fats
2. Simple salad- Purchase bagged salads, add a few toppings, and finish with olive oil and vinaigrette
3. Spinach and tuna- Sauté or steam spinach, top with canned wild tuna, and finish with shaved parmesan
4. Sardines- Contain high levels of omega-3 fatty acids
5. Nuts and nut butter
6. Snap Peas- High in vitamin C
7. Celery-Top with hummus or nut butter
8. Cheese- Go for fattier cheeses paired with summer sausage

I can have hummus?
Hello dear Doctor.
What protein shake or meal replacement shake do you recommend? Which ones are the best in your opinion? 🙏🏻❤️
Hummus isn’t keto…
Seriously, you advise to eat processed industry products in preference to home cooking??
I may have expected you to caution us of stuff that is also used in oil drilling, or warn us of recipes that just lead to 3rd-rate imitation wannabe-food.
But no hard feelings, I didn't see you point a gun at me.
Cooking is the hardest part of keto to me, not difficult to do but difficult to make time.
🙏😎
I am looking at starting the keto diet, but the problem I keep running into is I don't cook at all. And all the food that look good on keto requires a good deal of cooking. Wish you'd make more videos like this.
As Sardines are cought in the wild and are not grown in fish farms they are full of Omega 3 fatty acids. Its nutritional value compares to that of wild salmon and only at a fraction of the price, at least here in Greece. One of the most popular fishes in the Mediterranean cousine
I thought we couldn’t eat beans, so how come hummus is on there? 🤔
Just had to comment in the eggs…I have an instant pot, but I think u can use any pressure cooker, and it makes the most PERFECT hard boiled eggs! The shells peel right off. Cook on manual for 5 minutes, then chill in ice water for 5 minutes. I cook a batch at a time. They will stay for about a week in the fridge if u keep the shells on.
Thanks for this video. I'm sending this to my 29 year old son. I love cooking, and I am teaching him some simple dishes when he visits, but the reality is that he is very busy, and doesn't really enjoy cooking. ( At least at this point, maybe someday!) My husband and I didn't start keto and IF till we were around 54, and my son saw how we look and feel better than we have in 20 years, and have reversed our diabetes to the point that we no longer need any meds to manage it. He has been doing keto off and on since then, but sporadically because of his job, and hatred of the time it takes to cook. He'd rather do anything else. He does do IF several days a week, which helps, but this list will help him for when he is eating, to not feel like following a keto diet is such a chore for him. He will be 30 next year, and I told him he needs to take special care to avoid health problems that tend to start cropping up in your 30's. It's easier to prevent problems than reverse them.
Bolthouse Farms has a couple of great keto shakes.
I love my favorite easy keto meal: cheese-stuffed peppers. I coat a large green pepper in olive oil and mineral-rich salt. Microwave 3 minutes each side. Stuff with high-fat, grass-fed cheese (usually Tillamook Cheddar) and microwave for another minute. So good!
To finish off a meal, I'll add butter and cream to an herbal tisane of cardio-protective herbs like Hawthorne, Linden, and Motherwort. I feel so peaceful at the end of that.
On Wisconsin!
My family will not be happy to have celery and humus for dinner !!!! 🤣
Thanks Dr Berg for sending the sardines to the lab, awesome 👍.
I didn't find the link to the book. Anybody know where I can get it?
Wait so is hummus keto?! I would’ve thought it wasn’t! Hope Dr. Berg replies to me so I can eat it again lol or anybody else who knows about this lol
I eat my happy 😊 boiled eggs with lots of olive oil and spices, just like in Israel and it sustains me for hours! 😉
I see a lot of recipes that have good flavors, but, for example, instead of fudging around with a faux Asian dumpling made out of cabbage leaves and par-boiling or freezing the cabbage in order to get the leaves soft enough to roll up – heck, screw that, I just cut up the cabbage, add the flavorings and can cook the whole thing in one pan in 1/4 of the time. Ravioli out of cheese slices? Oh, come on – just put a casserole together, gonna taste the same. And I like to cook, but seriously – I don't see the point in all this fakery. As long as you like the taste of what you're eating, it doesn't have to be complicated or look like the junk food you used to eat.
Also high fat cream + low carb fruits + optional cocoa powder –> blend it or just stir and eat as it is.
I would love to see a book dedicated solely to this topic. I have my go to easy to make keto meals, but I definitely need more variety.
Thsbk you!!
Hummus is allowed in Keto!!?? Will hummus break IF ?
In another video you said canned sardines were lacking in Omega 3 because of canning process…..I dont eat them anyways but it was odd.
Buy boiled egg… wtaf
Dr. Berg..from Asia here. What about 🌶 chilli?
Very informative
The most practical, affordable, filling meal, after eggs, is simply frying some meat in cubes or ground on a pan. But this is still harder than boiled starch diet because of delicate temperature balance, splatter, lengthy cleanup while producing just 1 or 2 meals worth of material. The seasoned oil is tasty and burning can usually be avoided with large amount of fat.
The salad would be nice in finer pieces with sour cream. But tomatoes, cucumber and pepper are all fruit with too many carbs, leaving nothing for cream/eggs/liver. Sausage would also have some carbs. Cheese and nut butter are pricey as the main ingredient.
Probably the easiest way to consume fat would be eating plain sweet cream butter, maybe with some cheese or black coffee. Not possible with any other fat, and peanut butter has too many carbs. Preserves with Fish oil could be eaten with mashed eggs, but cleanup of the smell is already kinda cooking.
Hi there! Dr Berg l have followed you ever since l started keto always looking for answers in your links always find answers, already lost 18kg in 4 months 🥳🥳🥳🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hey, Doc. I would like to know how you spend a long fast from 2 to 7 days. And the main thing is that you eat at the exit. Thanks
If I don't have time to cook, I open a can of sardines, warm up a sausage filled with cheese and cut a pepper, cucumber, tomato plus green leaves with oil and vinegar, black pepper and sea salt. then 3 boiled eggs, I always have plenty of them in the fridge. as a dessert berries plus a spoonful of greek yoghurt or sour cream and nuts. I always buy frozen berries.
I'm eating pretty little per day, but regardless. my carbs intake is still in between 65 to 100G. I eat 2 boiled egg, avocado (15G carbs) and salad…how can I reduce more of carbs?
Dr. BERG WHAT DO YOU THINK OF SOY PROTEIN as like to lose weight I KNOW U SAID TO AVOID whey PROTEIN HE INCREASEs AN INSULIN
Summer sausage. I need to know more 🤔😂
What mayo do u use for a keto diet? And what dressings for salads are keto approved? Pleasw and thank u! =]
Sugar snap peas are high in carbs. Is it ok?
Just another thing I love about keto! Simplicity
Snap Peas aren't on your "Dr. Berg’s Healthy
Ketosis™ Acceptable Foods List".
Sent the sardines to the lab 😅 Love that.
Thanks 👍
