Ingredients:
1 large onion
1 large potato
¼ tsp turmeric
½ tsp salt
1 kg chicken pieces
1 ½ tsp salt
1 ½ tsp ginger paste
1 tsp garlic paste
1 ½ tsp pepper
1 ½ tbsp biryani masala
½ tsp red chili
½ cup plain yogurt
1 tsp sugar
¼ cup fried onions
3 prunes
2 cups basmati rice
1 cup hot milk
1 ½ cups hot water
1 tsp kewra water
Instructions:
1. Cook thinly sliced onions in a large pot until brown on medium heat
2. Remove the fried onions from heat
3. Coat potatoes with turmeric and salt and fry for 3-4 minutes on medium heat
4. Remove potatoes from heat
5. Add chicken, salt, ginger paste, garlic paste, pepper, biryani masala, red chili, plain yogurt, and sugar
6. Saute for 5-6 minutes on medium heat
7. Layer with fried onions, prunes, and soaked basmati rice
8. Pour in hot milk and hot water
9. Add kewra water
10. Cover with lid and cook for 25 minutes on low heat
11. add fried onions and ghee before serving
12. Ready to enjoy!
