Honey Marinated Salmon Recipe

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Marinate Time: 40 minutes
Cook Time: 12-15 minutes
Total Time: 57-60 minutes
Servings: 2

Ingredients

2 salmon fillets
⅓ cup soy sauce
¼ cup honey
3 large cloves garlic, grated
¼ teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
Instructions
In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, grated garlic, and cracked black pepper until well combined. Pour ½ cup of the marinade into a small dish and set aside for basting. Place the salmon fillets flesh-side down in the remaining marinade, ensuring the sides and skin are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for 40 minutes.

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup. Remove the salmon fillets from the marinade and place them on the prepared baking sheet, skin-side down. Bake for 12-15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets.

After 10 minutes of baking, baste the salmon with the reserved marinade and return to the oven for an additional 3-5 minutes, or until the salmon reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C). For crispy edges, move the baking sheet to the top rack for the last 1-2 minutes.

Remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for 4 minutes, covered. Serve over a bed of rice, garnish with toasted sesame seeds if desired, and drizzle any remaining sauce from the baking sheet over the rice for extra flavor. Enjoy!
