The Meat Church team visits the historic Buffalo Trace Distillery where we are led on a tour by bourbon Hall of Fame Member, Freddie Johnson. Freddie also leads us on two barrel picks where the team selects a Buffalo Trace and Weller Antique 107. Freddie shares his thoughts on the ties between bourbon and bbq on what was one of our favorite episodes of our show that we have ever filmed.

What a fantastic video. That last bit with Freddie really rang true with me. The good things in life can’t be rushed.
Buffalo Trace, my favorite. Awesome experience.
And how do I get the same tour you got?
So how do I get a bottle of this barrel pick?
While watching this video, Im in the Flinthills of Kansas with 6 briskets and 5 pork butts finishing on the smoker, enjoying a bourbon and a cigar. Excellent video Matt
This episode put a giant smile on my face!
Great video! Did the Bourbon Trail in the early 80’s. Our tour guide was the Mr.Elmer T Lee! What an experience 🥃
That was really cool, Mr. Johnson is full of information and great conversation.
Great episode, Matt! Well done!
Need to invite Mr.Johnson down to Texas to the pit an lay out some of that great BBQ of yours for a taste test…

Great! Great! Episode Matt, really enjoyed it. GO COWBOYS ✭
I keep telling my wife I can't BBQ without a glass or four of bourbon. The meat won't turn out good, if I don't.
From KY and this is my favorite tour. All their products are amazing. Glad you enjoyed it!
"I'm getting notes of delicious" made the video for me lol. What an experience. I got the goose bumps watching – especially the Weller selection. The salute at the end Freddie gave, the stories he has shared. Yep – that's a bucket list experience I hope to have one day.
Great episode! I love both great BBQ and Buffalo Trace bourbon and this is something that my friends/family and I surround ourself with to also create great memories. Nothing gets closer to heaven than that!
Cool video. Freddie is the man!.
Well done – looks like I am going to have try some Bourbon
Epic video! How does one who lives really far from you (Maryland) go about getting one of these bottles? I just had 107 for the 1st time on Saturday, at the MD BBQ Bash, and it was amazing!
Wow! What a great video – bourbon and bbq go hand in hand.
Setting a date to visit Buffalo Trace Distillery – thanks Matt!
This is the best video yet! I wish I had known. I'd have loved to meet you guys and shake hands.
What a fun time this must have been!
Hopefully you're doing the whole bourbon trail
My bbq and bourbon world’s colliding. One of your best. Well done.
