After using my grill mat for three weeks to cook marinated chicken, mushrooms, hamburgers it was a mess each time. I found that by turning off the grill and quickly use a heat-resistant glove to hold it in place, it wiped clean easy with a folded paper towel. All burnt liquids and grease wiped off on the first pass. Wipe it while it is hot and everything comes off easily. I just finished dinner and since I cleaned it again when done, thought someone else would like to know this. It is a joy to use and makes shroom burgers that taste great, no burning. Yum!
