  1. Went to a wedding in Fort Worth and stopped at panther city after watching this. Great food. The brisket elote is definitely amazing. We didn’t get to try the tacos but if we ever get back here we’ll for sure get them. Thanks for this series.

  2. Love these. I would love to see some videos of you going to viewers home teaching them how to make BBQ or having them on your show at your home and showing them how to make good BBQ. I’ll volunteer to be the first one.

  3. I worked at two other BBQ places in Fort Worth before I started on the line at Heim River, but when Travis selected me to work in this smokehouse, everything changed. I learned so much from that crew and can't say enough good things about Travis for giving me the tools to excel where I'm at now. Things ended on a sour note between Heim and I, but that was my mistake and my pride that led to my leaving. It was very hard work, and between the extreme temperatures of Texas summers and winters, the battalions of flies (and the salt gun we used to keep them at bay) and the legions of kids running around the smokehouse while the parents sat at the bar it was a crazy gig. Thanks, Travis. Love you, Robin!

  4. Another solid episode and just keeps adding to list of places to eventually try. One of my fave things to see in this series is the BBQ Community of how all the pitmasters respect one another's craft.

  5. As entertainer, Bobby Womack, said, "Leave them wanting more and you know they'll call you back." Matt, your episodes are SO well done and fun; and, like great BBQ, you definitely leave us wanting more. Just one question: When will this be picked-up by Discovery, or The Food Network??? It would be fantastic if you were able to stretch these into 30-minute shows on one of the cable networks! Way to go!!

  6. Awesome series. So many great spots out there. In the future with everyone having the main meats down to a science I'd love to see a series on all the variety of side dishes these elite chefs and pitmasters come up with.
