I researched this oil in boiling pasta water, and ultimately, you're better off NOT doing it. The benefits are almost non-existent and even if there was a benefit, its not worth wasting the oil for.
1- dont overfill the pot w/ water
2- oil preventing pasta from sticking while boiling is a myth
3- there is NO emulsion happening when adding oil to pasta water. (This is not a sauce)
I Love your videos, and how you use that ocean too😅
Only thing is I had to cut down on salt because I had kidney stones 😮
ITS NOT SALT ITS 🌊🌊🌊🌊
SALT THE PASTA AFTER, NOT THE FUCKING WATER.
I thought added salt makes it not stick ???
You can use oil and then deglaze with a bit of pasta water
you said "" Salt" 10 times
thank you for put me in your video
classic milk throther mix, i use mine for a lot more than milk 😭
SALT?? YOU SAID THE S WORD
(Why didn't u said one tablespoon of Ocean?? 😭)
🇺🇸: did you say Oil ?
😂😂😂
that poor macaroon
Whatvolive oil brand do u recommend
you had it out for that piece of pasta
I have my oil in the same container that you have yours in😊
starch from the pasta helps water and oil mix
You said the S word😱🔫
We used to add just a tiny amount of oil to pasta boils not to season the pasta or coat it or any of the other nonsense, but simply to make boil-overs less common. That's literally the only benefit, and you only need the tiniest amount of oil.
Wrong.
The salinity of the ocean is about 1/4 cup salt per gallon of water.
The oil and pasta water doesn’t do anything to the pasta itself, but it does help to keep the bubbles down from the starches in the pasta. Bubbles don’t like oil.
As an Italian let me tell you a hidden secret, add broth to the water whichever you like chicken beef or vegetable, instead of salt
I never did get my "free oil" that we stole from Iraq. You?
Maybe time to get real about that old trope?
Not every pasta uses the same amount of salt usually it’s written on the back of the package. This video is maximally useless!
I never measure my salt it’s just in my dna so I just get it right
Also the salt makes the boiling point of water increase, meaning the pasta will cook faster
Doesn't want to waste oil, but keeps it in plastic lol
dont no what to say
That’s what I told my brother, but he didn’t listen
Oil is so useful to prevent the water from boiling over.
The reason you should use olive oil is it makes it much easier for your body to digest the pasta.
Yep, that's what I was taught in school, don't use oil to cook your pasta and don't use water to keep your pasta moist.
Both are things I've heard people say and both are wrong, the oil does nothing while boiling and the water after cooking can make your pasta soggy.
that one poor nood
ok ill stop adding oil to my water
putting oil in the boiling water has nothing to do with sticking prevention. It's to prevent foamy boil-overs.
He said the S word not ocean
I cook my pasta, drain and shock my pasta… and once it’s drained, I put the pasta in a mixing bowl with oil and mix it… so the pasta doesn’t stick together as it sits and waits to be served. Learned this trick in an Italian kitchen.
I always do without salt. Salt is a myth thats always busted a lot by scientists and still cooks do it😂
you're pleasurable
Just say you have oil and listen screeching 😂😂
We need how to rice next fr
What's the truth this oil works otherwise you couldn't do it. Boil noodles in plain water without steering and see what you get then try it again after you've started a bunch of oil in
the oil keeps it from boiling over. works fine with cheap vegetable oil.
NEVER USE OIL ON PASTA
