I use the 6 and 10 oz. Pyrex custard cups
I miss the old style reviews. Wish they'd go back to there roots.
$11 they say. $80 i see on amazon .
Adam Anchor Hocking glass ware is not tempered glass ! This may allow glass chips or fragments to get into your food ! And that is never a good thing !
Useful video. Your testing sometimes helps us learn new utility of things which we usually use.
Based on this video, I purchased the winning the Anchor Hocking set 1.5 years ago. The video stated that the "one disadvantage is that these were the only bowls to break during our durability test." I really like these bowls, but 2 of my 6 did break: one of them broke when I dropped it 2 feet to my hardwood floor, and the other one broke when I was heating it in the microwave for less than a minute.
I'm trying to buy a new set and am not sure if I want this set because due to their low durability.
I use leftover pie tins
No longer available at this time. ☹️
I wish these were still available for $11
I have the French Duralex bowls. My mom and step-dad used to clean out houses, and got me this multi size set and like 8 of the medium size mise bowls! I can't cook right without them now!
Like many others here, I bought two 4 packs of glass prep bowls from Dollar Tree, but I never considered the question about them being microwave safe, does anybody know if they are?
I have a nesting glass set and I find a million uses for them! Indispensable! Mine are French (bought in U.S.), though, not Anchor Hocking, and haven’t had any problems with breakage.
I'm surprised about the silicone ones but it makes sense.
I was hoping to hear info about the smallest bowls used to prep spices. Can you provide a link or the name, please? Thanks.
I have the Anchor-Hocking bowls. Their ability to hold contents is unparalleled.
Why was the review cut short? they haven't talked about the other bowls on the table…. and what about ceramic ones which weren't even included in this test.
I’m not sure I agree with you final Assessment… I don’t think the smallest two bowls will not stay on the dishwasher rack without falling through…
I always make sure to do mise en place at home, but I use spare cereal bowls and mini storage containers. I wouldn't buy a bowl set just for mise en place, even though they are gorgeous.
I prefer the old format for these video reviews, where one person talked about how they tested, the video clips shows the testing and the issues of the product, and then the final "winner" product is announced. This format is not very helpful, it's a lazy talk show style.
I bought a few sets of 4 and 6 ounce glass prep bowls. I don’t mind having some extra space in the bowl after adding my ingredients. Don’t see why that would be a factor, really. I really like that they are microwave and oven safe for making smaller dishes/desserts. They also do double duty as ice cream bowls.
Looks like a green screen
Love these educational videos. Thanks for your talent and information
I have so many prep bowls; glass & metal. I reach for the size I need and use it.
My favorite prep bowls are the Pampered Chef glass prep bowls. They have measurement marks on the side which really come in handy.
Can we please have Lisa McManus back? Nobody needs a matching collection of different sizes, we just need a bunch of decent ones that do the job. 2 sizes, large and small. Lisa would know that. She's serious, and chintzy rubbish makes her angry. Bring back Lisa McManus.
If you search Aliexpress you'd find wooden bowls that are microwave safe and are georgeous…won't break either!
Wooden Bowls > $5 max > free shipping >….try it!
ALL different sizes?! Dear lord, this would trigger my OCPD so hard. Nope nope nope.
Psst! Stainless steel pet bowls work just as well and are cheaper.
For something like this, I would go to the dollar store.
You can buy different sizes of clear glass bowls at Everything’s A Dollar – 4 for $1 for the smallest bowls, about 4 oz., 3 for $1 for slightly larger 6 oz. bowls, and $1 each for 20 oz. (2-1/2 cup) bowls. They work great, they’re microwave safe (I often use them to melt butter or warm up water or milk in the microwave), and they’re cheap enough to buy several so I don’t have to worry about doing the dishes to start a new recipe.
I use small Pryex storage bowls that came with lids, so they can be used for something other than prep bowls. The lids come in handy when I sometimes prep a day ahead.
Please tell me there's a video where Bridgette isn't backup. The more I see her the more I need to see her doing something of use!
I have about 6+ dozen pyrex/anchor 1,2, 4, and 7 cup glass storage containers. I use them for everything, from mise en place to putting away leftovers. Were they cheap? Not really. Do I use them constantly? Yes. Microwave and oven safe! I can prep an incredibly large amount of food quickly and easily, or ever prep tomorrow's dinner today.
Still miss the old format of these reviews, I was curious about how those recycled material green ones fared in this but beyond mentioning they existed they never said anything about them.
You guys will review anything and I LOVE IT. Thank you. My favorite mini prep bowls are The Pampered Chef. They have measurement markings and lids and have so far proved fairly durable.
I have a set of Pyrex bowls, I don't recall the cost off the top of my head, but they get hell used and do everything well. I don't quite know why you'd need the tiny cups in the nesting set, I like mine in a uniform size.
When I saw your favorite, I thought they were going to be my favorites, the duralex brand bowls. I've been using this 9 piece set for 3 years now, including dropping some off the counter, with no breakages or other issues. They're very similar to your favorite set, except perhaps more durable. I recommend testing them if prep bowls come around for testing again. I also like this set because you get some larger bowls, and they're all nesting. They're made in France.

Bet you could float the silicone bowls and poach eggs in them.
How about that? That’s the set I chose to buy about 8 months ago. Good company, good price.
Can we go back to the other guy instead of this weird tv format?
Silicon is horrible. I have a silicon cup and everything I put in it makes it taste like silicon. It’s disgusting
I bought the winner as an amazon "add-on" product last year. Highly recommend them! I believe they were $6? Around there. Happy hunting!
I use corning ware tea cups. They are a nice convenient size and the handles on them makes it easy to stack as they 're open on the bottom.
I use old mis-match punch cups just for quick adds, tempering, etc. Went to a yard sale and found 2 nesting bowl sets for $5. They come in handy and you don't cry when they chip or break.
Hello
Manufactured in the good ol’ USA, too, if that’s your thing! 🇺🇸
