Delicious and heart warming, try this Creamy Pasta Recipe made with a unique type of pasta. Serve this with some garlic bread. Yum.

Conchiglie, commonly known as “shells” or “seashells”, is a type of pasta. It is usually sold in the plain durum wheat variety, and also in colored varieties which use natural pigments, such as tomato extract or spinach extract. The shell shape of the pasta allows the sauce to adhere to it.

Servings: 5 – 7

►Ingredients for the Creamy Pasta

►Pasta

500g conchiglioni pasta or penne pasta
1.5 litre water
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. olive oil

►Tomato Mascarpone Sauce

3 tbsp. sunflower or olive oil
7 slices turkey bacon or beef pancetta
5 garlic cloves thinly sliced
1 onion finely chopped
200g tinned plum tomatoes
500g passata
Half cup pasta water
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. freshly ground blackpepper
1 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 tsp. paprika powder
75ml double cream
250g mascaropone cheese
12 – 15 basil leaves or 1 tsp. dried parsley
Touch of olive oil and black pepper for the pasta

Serve with garlic bread or thin crust pizza
