Best & Easiest Way to Cook Chicken Chop! Chinese Style Chicken Chop 西式鸡扒 Singapore/ Malaysian Recipe
Singapore is a multiracial and multicultural country with ethnic Chinese (about 76% of the citizen population), Malays (15.0%), and ethnic Indians (7%). We also have Eurasians as well as other non-Singapore citizens in Singapore. Given our racial proportion, one would have imagined that our coffeeshops or foodcourts only have Chinese, Malay or Indian food but no matter what, there will always be one stall selling what we term affectionately as Western food. In case you’re wondering how a Western food stall looks like in Singapore, just google it and there are plenty of images out there. Interestingly, the Western food we get at coffeeshops or foodcourts are usually marinated in Chinese style. :)) We grow up eating this type of Western food and we love it! My favourite order at a Western food stall is always chicken chop. Roland’s favourite is mixed grill because he likes variety. What’s yours?

Hi Roland, just want to let you know that I have to make 10x the gravy for my family whenever I cook this chicken chop. It’s so good!! Thank you!
This chicken chop from Malaysia not from China!!!!!!!
omg the gravy almost made me cry … soooooooooo good
I gonna try this since it is gonna be my first time cooking
O My God, from last time I don’t want to buy chicken chopped outside. Now I even feel want to become chicken chopped auntie becoz of u. It’s soooo tasty
I couldn't taste the garlic and the marinade + gravy confused my palate. Instead of garlic, soy sauce and oyster sauce marinade, just season the chicken with garlic powder, salt and pepper. Browning the chicken should create enough flavor and compliment the gravy better than that marinade. Just my opinion.
Very nice chicken chop
❤
I cut bun half and spread with butter, a piece of burger orange cheese. Put in oven, butter melted. Serve with pork chop, salad & gravy.
Super❤
Superb
It makes me hungry😅
Sir, requesting a recipe for Singapore’s western shop chicken cutlet!!
明天午餐就试一下
Hi Roland, can we use this recipe for pork chops?
Chicken chop (or pork chop, or even other variation like beef or lamb chop) served with gravy (could be mushroom, black pepper, or whatever) is essentially Strait Hainanese-Weatern-style food as most Hainanese came to this region and work at coffeeshops, Western club restaurant, etc.
The sides varies, from mix veg, fries, fried eggs, buns, potatoes, etc. but the ‘signature’ remains- gravy over chops for locals
I love your recipe. Really easy and minimal ingredients
no wonder i like chicken chop so much , its soy sauce and msg , lol
I LIKE U R FOOD CAUSE U DONT ADD MSG. IT IS A DNA AND BRAIN CELL DESTROYER!! THIS IS WHY THEY WANT US TO USE IT LIKE ALCOHOL, TOBACCO, COFFEE, WEAPONISED FOODS….. THANK U FOR SHOWING THE WORLD THAT THERE IS A BETTER WAY!! SOME JUST DONT GET IT!!!

Hi Roland,
may i know what is the cutting board you used when you were butterflying the chicken?
Thank you so much sir for your recipe, is so delicious
It's amazing. I want to try to cook this food
Hi Roland, can the chicken be cook in air fryer??
Sir can you also upload how to debone that chicken so we also know it
Wow were lucky we have you sir our great chef.wow I would make these.
just curious, can the sauce used for mashed potato?
I am going to cook these for my family tonight to celebrate New Year Eve, Thank you guys✌️
Thanks Roland for sharing this recipe 😋 I made it for the first time, and wow that sauce 😭 AMAZING 😍
The only thing I did different was add onions to the fry pan with the chicken, and then I set aside the onion/chicken juices to add to the gravy in place of some of the water 😗 I absolutely loved the flavoursome gravy, with the extra sweetness of onions.
My husband said he's had a lot of gravy sauces in his day (he's Aussie) and this is the best he's ever had out of all of them, and wants me to do an encore next time 😁 I let him have what was left in the pot and, I kid you not, he licked the entire thing clean in seconds 🤣
I'm hooked on your recipes now, and I can't wait to try even more of them 😊👍
Thnk yuo for this recipe.
At least generous
This is one of thier favorite now. 👌 😊
When you say chicken leg, I'm guessing its the chicken maryland (Leg + Thigh together) because those look like huge chickens otherwise =) Nice recipe.
wooow i love the fried buns!
Thank you so much for sharing this recipe, good sir! I am a uni student and an amateur cook, but I find your recipe really easy to follow and the ingredients are quite accessible. After I made this dish, I was totally blown away with the taste, and I felt a sense of nostalgia from my childhood. I find that the gravy somehow reminds me of IKEA meatballs' gravy, but done better 😂 I will try out your other recipes soon and up my cooking game! 💪 Thank you again, love from Malaysia!
It looks good and easy to make but you didn’t complete the video by showing the complete recipe by pouring over the sauce that you made or dipping the chops in it for a couple of minutes. That should have been the end result which you did not show and that was the most important part of the video.
Watching Roland eat his creation at the end is the best part of every video.
Okay but you didn't show us how you carve the bone out
👌👌👌
Thanks for showing us the recipe.. can we use air fryer for the fries and bun ? If so, please share us the way to do it .. many thanks again
I made these for dinner with my partner who is a Chinese and he absolutely loved it !! I changed the meat to pork due to couldn’t find any chicken . Thankfully the marinade works on pork as well !! Changed the fries to mashed potatoes instead !! Thankyou so much for this recipe !
