There is a lot to like with this pellet grill and smoker, lets touch on some of the features. Basically Broil King has two different sizes and models in the pellet stove category. They have a basic model called the baron and an upgraded model called the regal, which is the one we are reviewing. There is a lot to like with this smoker and essentially has some very nice upgrades that I like quite a bit! Fist off lets start with the control panel. This is a very easy to use and well designed function, with well laid out controls, and also this thing has built in wifi and bluetooth controls so you get full functionality on your device or smart phone as well. As we work our way up to the hood. The hood is insulated and has a gasket material all around the grill, so this is great because the unit can hold temperature even in cold climates. Which is a big plus. My favorite features are once we get inside this grill. First off its one of the only smokers i have seen that come standard with cast iron cooking grates. These are awesome because it will help with searing your food. The biggest thing i like about this, Is pellet grills can be tough sometimes when the burnpots get dirty and fill up with ash. This creates air flow issues, and can create very large temperature swings. So what Broil king did was incorporate a burn pot clean out option that you can do even while cooking! That is a big plus to me, as it can be a huge pain to take this grill apart everywhere.

This is the biggest piece of shit grill I have ever owned. My Traeger was much better and that isn't a compliment to traeger. Temperature fluctuations due to shoddy computer moduels and sensors that couldn't be fixed during the warranty period. Now I have a giant $1600.00 paperweight in my back yard.
Love my Regal400, 2 years now, 3000lbs pellets, zero issues. The rotisserie is awesome, not a gimmick at all. This grill makes my 22 series Traeger look and feel like a pop can.
haha, that little thing is 2000 bucks —- you can get a better material one and larger —- from RECTEQ
I bought the 400 smaller version of this. Love it. The build quality is great but the grease pan situation is terrible. I have caught fire badly last smoke and had to get fire extinguisher out. Now im nervous to use it. It happened when I had chick thighs on it and was trying to cook them at a very high heat for a few mins. I cranked it to 450. Fire happened right out of the grease area about 5 mins in. Scary.
Do you have a show room in Burlington Ontario Canada
I am getting this one for my birthday
What's the diff between the 500 and the 500 pro?
Its a shame these are now made in China. I just received model # 948050 and was surprised to see "Made in China" rather than USA or Canada.
The one downside I've read is that Broil King made their pellets shorter, so you would have to buy them. Do you feel that is true?
Nice grill. If you empty out the burn pot during a long cook, you extinguish the fire and have really big issues. The smoker will continue to feed pellets but the fire will be out. I believe the clean out feature is for between cooks. Have you been able to successfully empty out some ash while maintaining temp? Thanks!
Hi just wanted to know if you had a comparison video up that I missed
When are you doing a pellet grill comparison video? GMG, Treager, Mephis, zgrill, camp chef and all the others. Also compare the WiFi apps.
Bought one late 2017. Very heavy but that shows quality, no shortcuts. Cast Iron grill and a rotisserie!!. Put a Green Mountain Grill Pizza oven inside with small alterations. http://www.greenmountaingrill.ca/gmg-pizza-oven.html Got that pizza stone up to 800 F. Also sold my Green Egg, doesn't have the versatility. 5 stars
Where is the Vs competition video? I think $ for $ this is hard to beat. Lets so them side by side please
Have you tried this grill yet?
Just wondering if you were going to do a side by side comparision with a Traeger?
Thanks
Seems nice, where's it made ?
Hi , can we grill the meat directly with the flame like a pitboss or campchef etc by pulling a handle to access the flame?
Question. How exactly do you prime the grease trap?
Hi there 🙂 Saw this video and the comparison between Traeger and the Egg. Originally, i was looking for a smoker for lazy smoky long jobs besides my BK Regal. My favourite was the BK again – deterred from the many bad news from Webers SmokeFire. But – should I rethink and focus on an egg? What would you recommend me smoking-rookie German? 😉
I've been using this exact grill for over a year and have zero regrets. It works perfectly for smoking, roasting or grilling and is incredibly well built. The wifi/bluetooth connectivity is a handy way to keep track of your smoke and probe temps. My only wish is that Broil King make an insulating blanket for winter use. Otherwise, I love it!
Question: what kind of motor drives the auger? Brushless or brushed
