So there is a lot to like with this gas grill, first it comes in two sizes, S490 which is a 4 burner grill, and the S590 which is a 5 burner. There are a lot of features that come standard with the broil king grills that we want to talk about. Fist off, you do get a side burner standard so that is nice, they also feature the option to upgrade to an infrared ceramic side burner. I am a big fan of infra red, because it really creates an extension of your cooking space, which is a huge bonus. Where as a standard side burner really doesn’t do much for me. A rotisserie kit is also going to be standard with this grill, and has a rear burner as well. The cooking grates are heavy duty 304 stainless steel, along with stainless steel tube burners. My only complaint is competitors use a full seamless cast aluminum stainless steel tub which i feel like is a little more durable. All in all i think this is a fantastic quality grill with a great warranty, good quality build, and attractive. You can’t go wrong with this guy!

Just bought one of these after scrapping two Napoleon grills in the last 5 years…terrible crappy Chinese stainless steel. I should have known when a magnet stuck solidly to it.
Love this grill, I have it in back and just ordered the new stainless steel grates, mine came with cast iron back in 2012, finally had to replace them.

I was wondering with the IR side burner can you boil things on it. I was reading Napoleon warrenty and it says that if water gets on it when its hot and then it cracks the IR is not covered under warrenty? any suggestions thanks
The latest version of the Regal/Baron S490 appears to have an infrared side burner.

Problem with that series is that they rust like crazy only after a few years when it comes to the burners and flav,bars. I looked at some photoes after 1 season– and boy do it rust in there.
Nice review. My personal experience with the Broil King Regal 590 quality is not very good, hence looking forward to the comparison you make as I'm about to replace it
