Butter Bread Recipe

To be perfectly honest, the only difference between this recipe and my homemade bread recipe is the addition of butter when rolling the dough to make the loaf. So if you want to make this “Butter Bread” just follow my Homemade Bread Recipe and add that step. 😂

  2. My mom, a native Trinbagonian, made this for us when we were kids. It was always so nostalgic, the aroma, the taste, and its buttery flavor. My sister and I would especially enjoy it every Thanksgiving and Christmas with some Turkey or Ham.

    Unlike my parents, we grew up in Brooklyn, but it always boggled my mind why bread everywhere else was so different from how my mom made it. Here, Jewish and Italian bakeries dominate the market, obviously. And rightfully so, they are skilled in their own departments when it comes to bread making. But to me, nothing beats this style of homemade Trini-bread. My mom showed me how to make it, and I've been making it very similar to how you do it too. But instead of vegetable shortening, I just add margarine instead.

    But regardless, thank you for this. Very informative, and I highly appreciate that you took the initiative to spread some Trinidad culture out there to the masses. We must do what ever it takes to keep this Trini-Style Butter Bread recipe immortalized!
