  1. Buttered Noodles Recipe
    Ingredients
    – 6 ounces of pasta
    – 2 tablespoons of butter
    – Pinch of salt
    – Parmesan cheese or any hard aged cheese

    Instructions
    1. To a boiling pot of salted water, drop in your pasta. Cook according to the instructions on the box.
    2. Using a slotted ladle or a spider to scoop out the pasta and into a large bowl.
    3. Add in the butter and micro grate in some cheese.
    4. Vigorously toss the pasta in a large bowl until the butter are cheese are melted.
    5. A sauce will form but if the pasta is too dry add in a splash of the pasta water to loosen things up.
    6. Serve and enjoy!

  2. What part of the US serves butter noodles? I'm from the Southeast US, and this was never something I saw until seeing parenting tips online when I started to go online in my 20s. Is this a West Coast, Midwest, or Northeast thing? I remember as a kid, having spaghetti, Hamburger Helper cheeseburger macaroni, macaroni and cheese (only made by my mom for family gatherings since she never did instant mac and cheese), and egg noodles with beef. That's it.

  3. To avoid extra-washing of the big bowl – do all that right in the pan with pasta. Just pour some pasta water into a mug as a reserve, and the rest goes into the sink (use a knife to keep pasta inside the pan when draining).
