😅 was just given one of these grills it's amazing! It needed new grates after 5 years and that's it
I am so glad to see your review on this grill today as I was thinking of buying one that is on sale for nearly half price, but I think now I won't buy it. I want something that will last at least 10 years.
Grilling😃😃 season is never over!
I got a great deal at walmart on this grill, $124 new in box. I went through propane so often now i use it with charcoal and i treat mine like crap and use it often. The grill is great, i think im going to do a charcoal grill next.
Brother use a lot of cooking oil spray on your grates and they wont rust!!
I've owned maybe 3 or 4 of these Charbroil grills over the last 30 years or so. Dollar for dollar, I would buy these anytime at the lower price point before I would lay out money on an expensive gas grill. If you keep them maintained, cleaned, covered, etc, you will get 1,000 cooks out of them.
I had a smaller one for four years before it began to fall apart. I purchased new infrared grates for mine. Most people do not clean and maintain them and have no success cooking with them or longevity!
I own one of these. The only thing to consider when buying is their customer service is shockingly bad. I just spent 20 minutes talking to some barely understandable woman in China or wherever at a call center who was literally incapable of doing anything but reading passages from the manual and told me there an not other resources AT ALL available from Charbroil. I won't buy anything else from them.
I’ve had a CB Tru Infrared grill since it first came out. No flame ups lets me grill super hot without worrying about the grill starting on fire. 😊 Worth every cent!
You keep your grill really clean. It sure extends the life of a grill.
mice and rodent love you when you cover the grill. just try it and find out
Hi.
I am planning to buy a new "Char-broil Performance PRO S 2 burnners TRU‑Infrared"
I rarely grill about 20 times a year.
Some say that smoke is acceptable others that it is not and I don't know anymore. Please advice
We recently bought a house that had a CharBroil grill hooked up to the house natural gas line, a definite plus. The grill is in decent shape but I replaced the infrared plates and the cooking grates. The main drawback with the infrared grill is the inordinate amount of smoke it produces which can often be irritating to the eyes and throat. I've been happy with the Weber grills I've had in the past and if I had a chance to unload the Charabroil I would
Sounds like if they would just make stainless steel grates for this grill it would be nearly perfect.
I WOULD SAY
Can you buy new cooking grates?
Looks better than my Napoleon grill paid $850 for it only year and a half old
i have the same grill. dont grill as much as you do , but i do use it. went through a 20 lb bottle of gas the other day so that tells you how much i grill on it in the last three years (had mine about the same time as you have , it appears.) i love the infrared feature, if i want the charcoal flavor i just spritz what i'm cooking with a little liquid smoke. hickory or pecan. i also have a cover. its like keeping your prized car or truck in a garage . extends the life of the grill immensely. best thing about the grill is, no flare-ups! i will sear the meat on what ever temp to get a good char and then turn up the flame down to the lowest setting or just a little higher. the grill is so efficient that that's all the heat you need. ( for most meats). grill is holding up well. the only thing that has quit working is the igniter. handy, but just use a long grill lighter and no problems. i would recommend, if you like to grill to give this line of infrared grills a try. using this grill is just like using a new grill you have to learn how to cook on that particular grill. once you get used to it you will love it.
Awesome review after three years you took good care of yours. And the porcelain grates do flake because of the bbq sauce if you did use has acid from the tomato’s eats up the porcelain makes it rusty and flakey. I just ordered a grill just like yours almost coming in hopefully this Monday can’t wait to replace my 6 year old kenmore grill.
I purchased mine 1/1/2014. I use it almost every day. My rough estimate is 290 days a year. Just a few days ago, a valve failed. It looks a bit rough but still runs. I converted mine to natural gas. There has been several occasions I left it running over night and all the grates are still intact. I live in the southwest desert so rust is not a problem for me. I am debating whether to replace the valve (if they even still make it for an old model). or starting new….New is shiny….
