  1. Or you could spend less money than the cost of a filter (which is basically toast after one or two passes of liquor) on liquor that isn't rot gut and it'll be a better deal overall. If you NEED booze that much and can't afford stuff that isn't vile, there's multiple issues going on that are more important than this.

  2. MythBusters approached this a long time ago. Multiple filterings helps, but less sensitive tongues may not be able to notice much difference.
Consider also: of it's in a cocktail, the taste isn't going to matter much if at all.

  3. I have done this multiple times with single-blind tastings against good vodka and excellent vodka. Start with a fresh filter and the pitcher with a reservoir. Run the vodka through the filter four times. I can tell the improvement and so could all of the vodka-girls who tried it. Not as good as the excellent, but easily equal to the good one. The downside is that some vodka gets lost and the extra expense of the filter bring the total cost up to the same as the good vodka.

  4. This is bullshit. Sure it works, but unless you are making a martini, IT DOESN'T MATTER. Once you add any mixer to vodka, no one can tell Grey Goose from the cheapest vodka available. Every bartender knows this.
