Chicken Bistek



How to Cook Chicken Bistek the Panlasang Pinoy way. Chicken breast steak with soy sauce and onions.

Ingredients:
1 lb. chicken breast, sliced

2 pieces red onions, sliced into rings

6 tablespoons soy sauce
2 pieces calamansi
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 cup water
ground black pepper to taste
5 tablespoons cooking oil

Procedure:
1.Combine chicken, ground black pepper, calamansi juice, and soy sauce in a bowl. Mix well. Marinate chicken for at least 30 minutes.
2. Heat 3 tablespoons oil in a pan. Fry the marinated chicken for 1 minute per side. Remove from the pan. Place in a clean plate. Set aside.
3. Saute half the amount of onion. Add garlic. Continue to cook until onion softens and garlic turns light brown.
4. Add pan-fried chicken. Continue to saute for 1 minute.
5. Pour remaining marinade and add water. Let boil. Cover and cook between low to medium heat for 30 minutes. Note: add more water of needed.
6. Add remaining onion. Cook for 3 minutes.
7. Season with ground black pepper and sugar. Note: salt is optional.
8. Transfer to a serving plate. Serve!
