  1. My mom made this for us in the 1950's. She also would make the same white sauce recipe and put chopped boiled eggs in it. Both were served over toast and so delicious. This brings back such great memories of watching my mama cook for her 4 children.

  2. Hey Becky, i have been able to get the frozen from ingles. I think it is Stauffer brand. Probably not as good as homemade. Thank you for the recipe. My mom use to make this for us when was little. Good memories. Love ya❤

  3. This is one of my all time favorite meals. It started when I was a kid and yes, i bought it in the boil in the bag. You can still find it but just not as good and so I started making it myself. Delicious. I use butter and flour. Yum Yum. And I'm proud to say my 40 year old daughter makes it as well. Thank you!

  4. Oh yeah! A staple. I learned to make from my mom… I am almost 82 and have been making this for ages. My family likes it best on toast but at times by myself I have enjoyed it on leftover mashed potatoes or even rice. I have definitely heard what it has been called. 🤪 I watched your video watching the eclipse today. I missed the very beginning of the eclipse since I was inside getting my dang taxes done 😖 Here in Southern California we only had a partial but it was so amazing. Our church hostess…she has our small church family in her ranch home…but she had bought s bunch of the glasses for viewing the eclipse. The things that God does..so many miracles. I hope you had a blessed Easter. 🙏✝️❤️

  5. Those boil n bags of chipped beef are a childhood memory of mine! Years later I tried to find them and was sad to find out that they were gone. I have yet to even ever find chipped beef.

  6. I wasn't in the Navy. But I was in the Army. Ues we called it something else. BUT This was my favorite part of breakfast. I'd have ham n chz with mushroom omlette hashbrowns with creamed beef over everything. To this day I could eat it 2 or 3 times a week. Maybe more. Thanks for the idea to make an old favorite.
