There is no such thing as a perfect steak. That's hyperbole. Perfect is a subjective term when applied to matters of taste.

If its medium rare then its not cooked properly. Simple as that. Would you eat undercooked pink chicken ? No.

steak is the simplest food to cook in the world, nothing complicated and no special technique is required. not sure why this is considered as a contest.

Why does the one guy have to mention he was raised by a single mother? What does that have to do with anything? My goodness, the obsession with that stuff is cult-level at this point.
The Kids are awesome… but their relationship with these pompous blowhard "chefs" is so disturbing. It's like when I was in Bootcamp. But this isn't the Marines. Jacques Pépin talks about what a-holes a lot of chefs are and how their cruelty is just passed along with each generation. Very sad.
