  1. We made this, along with other dessert treats for my mom's 70th birthday open house. It was the star of the show, everyone loved it and it was the most talked about dessert from the whole spread we did (and we did a lot). Its decadent but a treat that's worthy of your time and effort!

  2. I’ve made this recipe twice and both times it has been delicious. If you’re wondering whether you should give this ago, definitely do. It’s very rich and decadent but perfect with a cup of tea. There’s nothing like homemade caramel and shortbread. It also freezes well too, so you can cut it up and store the slices and eat them frozen or defrosted later.

I would recommend using a very high quality chocolate for the ganache top layer. I also found that only using half the ganache that the recipe call for was better for me personally. I preferred for the chocolate to only add a subtle bittersweet richness. Next time I will try only using half the shortbread too, I want to see if I can make it into more of a caramel slice which usually has a higher caramel ratio.

  3. This looks so mouth watering. You have the perfect voice for this. Certain words like chocolate, shortbread ect… sound so good when you say them. It makes listening to you speak so enjoyable. So glad I found you on here. 😊
