• 3 cups (about 400 – 450 g) all purpose flour
• 1.5 cups (about 370 ml) warm water (not boiling hot)
• 1 tsp dry yeast
• 1 tsp salt
• ½ tsp cast sugar

Bread is like a beautiful woman. It can be the wholesome, flavourful basis of life; but too much aggressive "kneading" and yeast are big problems!
My yeast isn't developing a froth. I followed your instructions exactly. On my tin of dry active yeast it says to add 150ml of water instead of 370ml. It also says to use a tablespoon of yeast instead of a teaspoon.

Mom made our bread all the time. Her way of proofing was to turn the oven on to about 450. Once heated, she turned oven off, crack opened the door and set the dough on the counter. The dough would rise in about 30 min.

Love this recipe… tastes amazing! The only problem I have on occasion is cutting through the bread haha… I use my bread knife and can never get through the bottom!! Any tips to not have this happen?

I don't get how you do it. My dough is always so sticky and almost impossible to work with. I even used more flour and less water than your recipe. :/
This bread was amazing. I've shared the recipe with everyone I know. I do have a question, after the yeast blooms for 5 minutes. How does the batter seem more wet? Every time I do it, it's much dryer. The end result is still delicious.

As it turns out, third time's the charm. Before I found you, I tried two other 'easy' & 'rustic' YouTube bread recipes – and after a more complicated process, the results were… less than pleasing. But you are truly my Kitchen Knight in a Floury Apron! This recipe was the epitome of no-fuss, and the results were absolutely delicious. (Extra handkerchief throw in your colours for the Renfaire music in the background; that put a smile on my face before the bread did : )

I am confused by the baking paper, oil, and flour combination.
I live at 7100 ft. outside Colorado Springs. Do you have tips for making this bread at high altitude? I usually use more water and either Gold Medal or King Arthur bread flour.

Your video says 1tsp sugar but your description says 1/2 tsp sugar?

Don't know how you can add a bit of flour and roll it into a ball. I find it impossible unless I add a ton of flour.
