A hint for mise en place:
Deli containers!
They come in different sizes, from 1 cup (1/4 liter) all the way up to 1 quart/liter; a single sized lid fits all of them; they're quite inexpensive; and they won't break if you drop them.
I'm kind of surprised that Fhef J. P. doesn't use them.
I'm too set in my ways to attempt this.
I don't understand your response.
I love your videos Chef but I'll have to leave the raisins out of this one. Raisins ruin everything lol
How on earth did you eat that without at least blowing on it a couple of times? My taste buds would be fried.
Chef, have you ever used buttermilk in soup? We're expecting a winter storm here in the NE, so I planned on making a soup. I have buttermilk left over from your polenta recipe [excellent by the way] and was wondering if I could add some to a soup – or would it curdle? Thanks for all. Rick
Yeah, I have to try this one. Thank you for a totally different soup idea! I'm a soup making fool and always looking for new ideas. Dried apricots and raisins. Who'da thunk it?! ❤
I like how the chef doesn't blow on his food like all the other make believe chefs do. This Chef is not a wimp and eats it hot without blowing on the spoon.
Thanks from New Zealand
if you are adding cornstarch and butter… couldnt you use a roux instead?
Were you planning to call it chicken Mulligatawny?
It's always good to see you after a rough day.
I almost fell outta my chair laughing when he took that bite.
i would like Jack's opinion&taste on Jean Pierre's cooking from time to time.
🙏💖
Deelute:) French for dilute 😂😂😂
Love all your shows!! Great way to teach us all to cook !! Plus make us all smile and laugh, it's great❤❤❤😅😅❤
Definitely a happy soup…bloop, bloop, bloop song ….Shoup, Shoup soup song! Great edit Jack! Your job is a dream job Jack, as I’m sure you appreciate! Smiling and humming the “ Curry Shoup, Shoup …..Luv it! You didn’t let me down by not adding “butter” ! You know the old saying….No butter will make one stutter? hahahaha ….. Yum!
Ya know chef, we are all willing to wait for your food to cool, or for a little edit cut so you do't keep burning your mouth! I feel the pain every time that happens!
This looks god but I don’t like curry & coconut milk so guess I’m not making this lol
Question Chef? I am excited to make this, even without the dried apricots and golden raisins because I I didn't have them on hand, but I did find dried dates in my pantry. Could they be a worthy substitute or no? I will still make it, but I have them so I was curious. Love the channel!! ❤
"If you are not having fun, you are not doing it right"
I really appreciate you ❤and for your time to share. I just finished the poached cod and look forward to another great dish
I always have fun cooking……a few glasses of vino can relieve the stress of cooking. I love to cook and most importantly I love watching new videos from my favorite Chef
Somebody's getting one salty piece of chicken haha. That one piece at the bottom of the pan got half the salt
Curry 🍛 … I'm out! But I'll like the video anyway. My mom went to school in Singapore 🇸🇬 and she used to make this a lot with curry puffs. I'd come home from school, smell that curry, and immediately drop my backpack off and run to my friends house for dinner 😂
Edit: I'm really here for Chef. Watched the whole video. 😊
No curry. Yuck
Thats so tasty yummy soup. 😋😋😋😋
The soup sounds and looks delicious. I've been making curry ham rice chowder for years. Always a crowd pleaser!
Looks really good … Thanks!
Great recipe for the toothless. ❤
Needs potatoes
My mother in law, cooked on a Ranch during the Depression.
Her recipe is similar to Chefs,' she called her recipe "Corn Chowder," she served it along side with fresh home made bread.
When you cook for hungry ranch hands, it better be good & hardy.
This is art chef! Amazing!
Jean P my dad owned the Oceans Grill in ft Lauderdale Dick Falcone did you know him. Karla and I love you jack and your show. Thx
🤣🤣🤣🍷🍷🍷🍷🤣
Delicious 🎉❤
Created this by accident? There’s a story there I think! 👀🍜🥄
Looks wonderful Chef! I would love to see you make Sancocho. Would love to see your take on it. I’m sure it would be amazing!
You know what, Chef? You’re getting pretty good at this cooking stuff, maybe you should do it for a living. I’d watch you. 🤣
After wrapping up all over the body with sauce from braised beef, I would definitely will to take a bath in that soup
nice
One of the funniest things I remember from working at Whole Foods was customers wondering why some of the green bell peppers had yellow splotches or why the yellow bell peppers had red splotches. I'd, very politely, sat that 'they're all green bell peppers that change colors over time'.
This soup looks delicious chef!
Question, is it also fine if I used flour instead of starch for the thickening ingredient?
So glad to be living in a time when these ingredients are more readily available. Even 20 years ago curry was considered an exotic ingredient and most American chefs weren’t utilizing it nearly enough!
What I like about this recipe is that you can go crazy with the vegetables in there. You can throw almost anything in there. Peas, brokkoli, cauliflower, green beans, potato. It all works in a curry. The potatos especially, if you use extra starchy ones it'll make it nice and creamy.
Chef JP, you burning your mouth is still funny after I've seen it a hundred times! You're willingness to entertain us at all costs is admirable.🤣
