Ingredients: 1 puff pastry sheet thawed 4 oz cream cheese softened ¼ c confectioners sugar (powdered sugar) ½ tsp vanilla extract ½ c diced strawberries
Egg wash 1 egg 1 tbsp water
How to: Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. In a mixing bowl add the cream cheese, sugar and vanilla extract. Mix together until smooth and well combined. Set aside. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread out the puff pastry in a single layer. Using a 3 inch heart shaped cookie cutter, cut out as many hearts as you can. If you don't have a cookie cutter you can cut the pastry into even sized rectangles. Place on the prepared baking sheet. Take a paring knife or a smaller heart shaped cookie cutter and score a smaller heart into the puff pastry a little bit away from the border. Scoring means to cut but not all the way through, this will help the puff pastry borders rise. If you didn’t use a cookie cutter, still score the puff pastry in the rectangle shape. Spread the cream cheese mixture on the center of each heart cut out about ½ tablespoon worth, more if not using heart shaped. Then top with the strawberries keeping them in the center as well. Whisk together the egg and water. Brush the egg wash mixture on the edges of each pastry. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Dust with some powdered sugar. Eat and enjoy!

Thanks! Looks good. Do you think a chocolate drizzle on to would work, too?
