Put your squeezed aping in the microwave for one minute and it is sanitised.
It’ll be very hot so remove with care.
Also, before you wring it out, rinse until only clean, non-sudsy water comes out.
I don't understand the fascination with the dishwasher. I always wash my sponges in the clothes washer with the regular laundry in a mesh bag. I don't put them in the dryer.
Every microbiologist: no poop /s
I ALWAYS make sure the sponge is clean after washing dishes. It gets washed too after doing the dishes.
It depends on the kind of sponge it is too. Thd faster it dries, the better.
I put a small cap full of beach in my fish water. Does that help with killing bacteria?
25,000 TIMES MORE?!?! 😳😳😳
Or rinse your dishes. Duh.
I spray clorox
Again, how much do you have to pay for this fool to go away?
How can I get that picture of their findings for work? I thought this was common knowledge, but my coworkers keep leaving sopping wet sponge in the bottom of the sink.
At my last job, the breakroom sponge was always wet and icky. I'd have to rinse it out and microwave it before using it pretty much every day.
Ditch sponges and use Swedish dishcloths. They are awesome!
Sponges are disgusting
What about using a microwave? Also, do different sponges retain different bacteria levels?
These bacteria… are they not the same as gut and throat bacteria? Thus harmless?
Holy moly! 😱
Not a fan of the sponge.
I've been saving my wet, nasty sponges in a ziploc. I hope one day to rent an apartment with a dishwasher as she recommends.
🤢
A dip into diluted Clorox water will do. Your dishwasher's dryer may "cook" the sponge, instead.
Who doesn't know this? I worry so much about y'all humans.
