Today we’re making Dominican Style Sopa de Res, which is a homemade soup made with beef. Think of this recipe as an easy way of making Sancocho since many of the ingredients are the same. The great thing with this recipe is that it’s simpler. Now it does take a while to cook, but the results are hearty, delicious, and authentically Dominican. The flavors remind me of childhood. This homemade soup can be enjoyed with white rice, avocado and even some perfectly fried tostones. Be sure to join the Chef Zee family and tag me in your recreations. Buen Provecho!

We’re can I purchase your apron?
After working the last 10 days straight I'm not cooking today. However, watching you make this from beginning to the delicious looking end is very relaxing and spirit soothing. I'll probably cook it within my upcoming days off. I love your chanel and have made several of your recipes.
Hey chef Zee, can you please make a broccoli cheddar soup with your spin on it, please please ❤❤
Thank you for this recipe Chef Zee!! Looks amazing. One question…would you recommend adding whole allspice to this soup? I know you use it with Chicken soup. Will it work here as well?
Thank you for this recipe!
La Sopa de rez is so delicious especially with corn tortillas, Tapatio and avocados.
Oh yesss. Platano and corn on the cob. Yum. Thank you Chef Zee
Yummmmmm😊
Hi Chef Zee! Can this be made with beef broth instead of water or would that take away some of the flavors. I’m from Chile & we make something similar called a Cazuela De Res — I do use beef broth for the base but the seasoning is different from this sopa. For example—no sofrito en la cazuela. Gracias!! Oh & I would add some corn on the cob to this! 🤗
I know what I'm making this weekend 😉. I think I would be adding corn on the cob.
I just add white rice on the side! Looks delicious 🤤 can't wait to try it!
Wish I had a bowl right now 😩❤
Thanks for sharing your recipe. I'm going to add toyotas, because I love this vegetable. I'm going to serve it with white rice and aguacate. Delicious 😋 all the blessings to you and your loved ones. 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Hey Chef Zee! Can we use sofrito that we have on hand for the beef? If so how much would you recommend?
I’m going to add some green plantains to it, and some chicken. I’m not gonna add the noodles.. I’ll make some white rice on the side.
Adding corn no plátano. But maybe Dominican corn starch dumplings
Excellent
Love it 😊
I like to top mine with a squirt of siracha
