I do this one thing to keep ice dry. Bartenders absolutely hate me for this!
I keep the ice in the freezer and just grab when needed.
Just a bit too ultra for my taste. I can’t believe you are choosing this when people are literally going hungry. Maybe dial it back a bit? Enjoy nice things, but this reeks of elitism.
Why not use stone or metal frozen cubes 🤔

As usual Lan Lam gets 100% on the physics. Big difference between 0 degrees F ice from the freezer and 32F already-melting ice.
Just add a splash of booze at the end!
Pro tip: I simply place the cubes on a dry, clean towel. Then I aim a hairdryer at the surface of the cubes for several minutes until they have completely dried.😂 (Just kidding.)
Thumbnail is kind of funny
The chilling property of ice at 0C vs. liquid water at 0C is difficult to overstate. When solid ice at the transition point becomes liquid ice, it's absorbing the same amount of heat that it would take to increase liquid water's temperature (of the same mass) by 80C.
A quick rinse and pour also gets rids of flavors locked into surface of ice
