We love simple easy delicious pasta, and we love that there are so many versions you can have! This is such an easy and wholesome dish. The sauce is rich and you can add any veg you like, we just used basil just to show the simplicity but we’d love to know what you’d add to yours!

  10. Cashews can be expensive! I tried a recipe in the past that recommended white beans (like Cannellini Beans) as a substitute for soaked cashews. I'm going to try that with this recipe, since cashews are SO expensive. Not sure if it will work, but I wanted to share the idea.

    ( was about 4 years ago) i think it was brown tasted salted really nice

  20. I tried this, measured the exact the amount and the consistency of the sauce just isn't the same, neither the colour. 500ml milk is to much, it makes the sauce watery.

  21. Cashew nuts are really expensive in South Africa. Is there any inexpensive healthy alternative?

  22. I added drained sundried tomatoes to the sauce plus one can of drained lentils at the end for protein and iron. This sauce is soooo creamy and delicious πŸ˜‹ Thank you to the Happy Pear for this recipe πŸ’™πŸ’™

  26. I have just made this , it is very quick and easy, I added mushrooms to give it some more body. I will definitely make it again but next time I think I will use some fresh peppers and chargrill them myself for more flavour , I don’t really like prepackaged food , as well as some finely grated fresh garlic instead of the powder and top it with some home made vegan Parmesan. However it was very tasty . Cheers.
