Remove the membrane off the back of the ribs using a butter knife and a paper towel, just like you see in the video. Then use some olive oil ( as a binder and coat generously with your favorite rib or bbq rubs…. I used the my own rub and it was perfect!

I like to use a salt and pepper based rub at a minimum or at least a starting point, and that EXACTLY what I did with my homemade rub:

2 TBSP Coarse Black Pepper
1 TBSP Salt
1 TBSP Lawry’s Seasoned Salt. ( )
1 TBSP Granulated Garlic
1 tsp Granulated Onion
1 tsp Paprika
1.5 tsp Brown Sugar

Cover a large baking sheet with foil and place the ribs in the oven for 2 hours at 350F with the oven rack set close to the bottom. After 2 hours r set the oven to 450F, and and leave the ribs in for 10 minutes. Remove the ribs from the oven and sauce.. I used Hey Grill Hey Everything BBQ Sauce ( ). Return them to the oven for 3-5min at 450F just enough to caramelize the sauce. Remove and let them rest for a few. This is a great time to take pictures and brag to your friends! These are better than slow cooker ribs and instant pot ribs. Believe me….there is nothing wrong with meat in the oven!

  1. Well, I made these today and I would give them a 6.5 out of 10. Why? While the ribs did develop a crust, it was just too much crust, some areas did burn, and the inside of most of the ribs was pretty dry. I might try this method again, but I am thinking about covering it for the first hour and then cooking it uncovered for the rest of the time. I believe that the steam should preserve more of the interior juices, and then for the second hour develop the crust on the outside. What was frustrating to me was I checked the tenderness with a toothpick and it never really felt as tender as I wanted it to be. So I think with a little bit of tweaking these might come out better.

  2. Sir, im a 29yo european man-child and my very first ever food i made in the oven was based on this video and it turned out great! This will forever be a dear core memory of mine. Thank you and bless you.

  3. I just put 2 sets back in at 450. My oven runs a bit hot so an hour and 40 minutes was just right 15 more minutes and I think my wife is about to fall in love with me all over again,. Thanks for the help

  4. Thank you so much for this, it makes doing it on the grill actually a waste of time. Temperature control so reliable and the tip with the toothpick is invaluable. Never will I waste my time on the grill again. Vielen Dank von thomas aus GERMANY

  5. WoW they look amazing. I really appreciated the great tutorial on how to remove the membrane… Brilliant!!! Do you have a more readily available rib sauce you would recommend. My company is here in a few days so I won't be able to purchase yours. Thanks again… I look forward to trying this.

  6. Finally!!! Someone who thinks "fall off the bone" ribs aren't cooked right. I hate when I see the term "fall off the bone". That's over cooked! You can get your ribs nice and tender without them falling off the bone.
