Have made three of your recipes…all were fails…something was off somehow. Things were too sweet, too thick or too dry. I collected and collated my 81-year-old mother's kitchen drawer full of loose recipes into a ring-binder. There was just some affinity and innate knowledge of food that my mom had. None of my 3 sisters, or I, can duplicate her potato salad…as hard as we've tried. (One sis came close.) The matron of honor at my wedding still raves about that potato salad mom made for the rehearsal dinner 40 years ago. Mom's recipes in the ring-binder are on index cards, cut out of magazines, on fax paper, on grainy copies from recipe books, scribbled on scrap paper. All of her recipes are tried and true…delicious. The best recipes are in her handwriting. I miss mom. Her passion and love of family and good food lives on in her recipes.
if you are doubling the recipe do you double the flour used over the veggies?

Just made this, substituted diced potatoes for peas. Used Goya sazon instead of salt & pepper. Now to wait for the pie to be ready from the oven. Cold weather, so perfect dinner idea! Thanks for making this video.

Good recipe. Pretty much like mine except for the top instead of more dough I make a crust of whipped mashed potatoes. Then you have your starch, less dough. (And you can use your left over mashed potatoes.)

I make mine super similarly, but I’m stupid and didn’t use heavy cream. Then I also used canned peas and carrots instead of frozen and DEAR GOD it was nowhere NEAR as good as it could’ve been 😂 please guys do not make my same mistake 😅

I’m surprised he didn’t put egg wash on top of the crust before baking it. I’ve seen Martha Stewart do it, and her pies come out nice and flaky on top.
