Easy Simple Whole Wheat Bread – Ready in 90 Minutes



INGREDIENTS:
2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup bread flour or all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons (1 packet / 7 grams) yeast: instant or active dry
2 Tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt

1 cup milk, heated to 120-130° F for instant yeast (or 110-120°F for active dry)
2 Tablespoons olive oil (or any vegetable oil)
1 egg
about 1/4 cup additional bread flour

  2. I made this bread yesterday with freshly milled wheat and it was fabulous! Making another loaf this morning and I actually used my cleavage to warm my egg to speed up the process after seeing you do this! LOL Thank you for a simple, yet delicious recipe!! (and your humor) LOL

  3. It’s not 90 minutes for everyone sadly. I live in a cold, damp, hilly place and my bread took a whole hour to rise. It was definitely yummy though and an extremely easy recipe to follow. Thank you for posting this!

    Could you find a high altitude bread like this for the folks up in Big Bear Lake, Ca. It's quite dry up here. And, baked goods are made up here with adjustments to the ingredients. I and other Mountain Dwellers love your baked goods. Thanks

  5. I made whole wheat all the time in bread machine…it never rose to the height of your!!! What is the difference you did. I think yours looks wonderful. Every article said that it was a heavy flour so I see yours!!! Yours did!!

  6. Made this twice now by hand, no mixer, and lost about 1/4 of it because it stuck to everything like Crazy Glue. Didn't rise as much either. Will a mixer help? I am obviously not doing something correctly.. Jenny can Cook, but I sure can't bake!
