Easy Simple Whole Wheat Bread – Ready in 90 Minutes
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup bread flour or all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons (1 packet / 7 grams) yeast: instant or active dry
2 Tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk, heated to 120-130° F for instant yeast (or 110-120°F for active dry)
2 Tablespoons olive oil (or any vegetable oil)
1 egg
about 1/4 cup additional bread flour

I tried this recipe today, very easy.. except you say dont have to grease the pan…well I didnt and the bread stuck to the bottom….so here I am making another one and I greased the bottom.
I love all of your videos. Can this dough be used to make rolls instead of a loaf? Has anyone tried this?

Warm egg trick:
Put egg in hot water and let sit for a minute or 2 and you’ll have a room temp. Egg. I learned this from another video

I made this bread yesterday with freshly milled wheat and it was fabulous! Making another loaf this morning and I actually used my cleavage to warm my egg to speed up the process after seeing you do this! LOL Thank you for a simple, yet delicious recipe!! (and your humor) LOL
It’s not 90 minutes for everyone sadly. I live in a cold, damp, hilly place and my bread took a whole hour to rise. It was definitely yummy though and an extremely easy recipe to follow. Thank you for posting this!

Hmmm. Looks lovely, but I need to make it vegan. I'll replace the egg with "egg replacer" powder, use all whole wheat flour, and use warm water instead of milk. I hope it works out well.
Hello Jenny,
I have not seen any pure whole weat meal here where I live. But we have a flour which is 60% regular white weat flour and 40% whole weat flour.
Surely I should be able to use that for this bread?

Could you find a high altitude bread like this for the folks up in Big Bear Lake, Ca. It's quite dry up here. And, baked goods are made up here with adjustments to the ingredients. I and other Mountain Dwellers love your baked goods. Thanks

I made whole wheat all the time in bread machine…it never rose to the height of your!!! What is the difference you did. I think yours looks wonderful. Every article said that it was a heavy flour so I see yours!!! Yours did!!

I know those was posted very long ago , I stumbled upon it looking for a quick whole wheat recipe. It worked perfectly. I did need more than the 1/4 cup bread flour. Will make this again

My bread turned pretty crumbly and dense. Any ideas?
Made this twice now by hand, no mixer, and lost about 1/4 of it because it stuck to everything like Crazy Glue. Didn't rise as much either. Will a mixer help? I am obviously not doing something correctly.. Jenny can Cook, but I sure can't bake!
