That brush is no longer $7.50 it is now $9.50,think I`ll just go to the Hardware Store get a paint brush!LOL!
So I’ve been painting my house with pastry brushes?
I just buy the .99 at Home Depot.
You're not going to walk into a pastry store, or even shop online, and find all these brands. The best pick is the one that's available.
Sending love from Japan. Sincerely yours,
if bob ross was there he could paint some happy little trees.
Is there any reason we can't use a nice paint brush with natural bristles that comes from the hardware or art store? ALSO.. what about those nice goose feather brushes? Not test for those?
Also when mice chew on your silicone pastry brush, that's a permanent cosmetic marring… 😭
How do you clean the darn things? Should you consider them disposables?
Yipes! Brushes with BPA? Good to know. Why no test on the old-school nylon as well? Still make and I still use, and have no complaints, though I've also never brushed Filo. Wonder if they have PBA? 😱
What? No harbor freight paint brushes?
How much basting do you have to do to get tired because your brush is too heavy? Hahahaha
didn't we just watch this a bit ago? edit: still great info. I'm all in on the natural fiber in two lengths though. just because I'm stubborn really.
NOPE! You should have at least four, these two of course, and a big, wide brush for baking, bread and pastry, and two long handled brushes for basting, both the oven and the BBQ…
BPA-free is really a meanless term unless they say what they are replacing it with. Most of the time, they just use alternatives like BPB, BPF, and BPS., which are generally have been less tested than BPA, and from the tests that have been done, data indicate the alternatives are no different from BPA.
Great
You're not painting a picture. You're slapping something on some food. Do you really have to be "delicate"?
Sure, a pastry brush works great… then comes time to clean it… which is impossible… 😠
I prefer nylon brushes. I've never used a natural hair brush from which hairs didn't fall out and into my food. Drives me nuts.
OXO must be a good brand. They seem to always come out good in all the tests
BAHAHA 'HOME COOK' TOOLS … PRO'S BUY HIGH END PAINT BRUSHES

I'm just saying hello happy Thursday
I feel like you missed a whole category of brushing. I keep a small silicone brush in a little jar for the sole purpose of oiling pans. I wash it about once a week in the dishwasher. I know a lot of people prefer spray oils, but I think they are bad for your lungs, and they keep everything around the kitchen a tad on the greasy side. I just drizzle some olive or peanut oil in the pan and use a silicone brush to spread it around. I use a heavier silicone brush that I cut the bristles down to about a half inch to do the same this with solid fats like butter or lard. Pans that are oiled completely on the inside come clean with minimal effort. This is also true with cooking racks.
Now you're just trying to butter me up!
Me with no brush…
