Years ago I bought a cheap quality silicone baking mat that I only used twice because it emitted a funny smell. Rather that chuck it in the garbage, I tried using it under my cutting board. It prevented the board from sliding around perfectly.
You should have reviewed Board Buddyz by Mercer
The coffee machine you recommended is $180 on Amazon. Where can I purchase it for $94?
I use my silpat
I've never had a problem with my OXO Goodgrips cutting board, like the ones you're using here, slipping. It has grippy non-slip strips on each end that work just fine. Thin, lightweight wooden boards, though, could probably benefit from these mats.
Please review carbonators and soda siphons
Shelf liner material at the dollar store. Works like a charm. easy to clean.
I use a 1/8" soft silicone sheet. Simple, grippy, high temperature resistance, as well.
Take a kitchen towel, get it moist, put it down on the table, fold the top edge down an inch or two, place cutting board on top. Why waste your money on crap you don't need?
damp washcloth
More Hunger Pangs!!!!
Did anyone click the link for the winning one? Currently unavailable and no idea if or when it will be back in stock.
But, for $16 I can get 12 feet of grippy shelf liner, which works awesome, as everyone else has said. It's easily cut to match the size of the cutting board. Easily washable. And if it gets too dirty, toss it and cut a new piece.
Also works great to put under your hand soap dispenser so it doesn't slide around the counter.
Shelf liners work as good and a lot cheaper. I cut 4 – 3 inch squares and just put them down where the corners will be, and you have lot's left for putting under other things to keep them from moving.
I have never had slipping problems with my pampered chef cutting boards. They have a grip edge that keeps them in place on my quartz countertops. I used to have laminated counters and they stayed in place on that too.
Great review! Thank you.
Thanks for adding actual captions for the Deaf.
OMFG. Wet a kitchen towel. For free.
The fact that they're even using those Oxo cutting boards at ATK makes me 🙄. Even without those feet, the board itself is like a trampoline because it is bowed due to its thinness. What happened to you, ATK…
I have a pair of square silicone potholders I use when I am going to grab something sticky that might be hard to launder out of my fabric ones. I use these two pot holders as the cutting board stabilizer, putting the two next to each other. For a larger cutting board, I turn them to diamonds next to each other, rather than squares. You only need about a 6" square to be 9" long when you turn it like a diamond, so two 6" squares can easily stabilize a 9×18" cutting board very effectively, with no trampoline effect, if you rotate them 45 degrees. You can leave them straight if your cutting board is smaller.
Folded up wet paper towels. When you're done with the board, you can use them to swipe the counter clean. Like, literally costs pennies.
chobs on upsidedown
As of today (7/28/2022) that board stabilizer is not available at Amazon
A piece of wet paper towel works great or get a board with rubber on the ends like OXO
Great product. Thanks 🌻🐕
Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. not the spiritually filthy lying right wing hypocrites !
"Soggy countertop", if your countertop gets soggy over a damp cloth or paper towel used to keep your cutting board from slipping, you got more problems than a slipping cutting board. I've been a professional Chef and done baking and cooking for over 45 years and not once has my countertop gotten soggy. You're reaching on this one. Slow day in Boston?
Or you can just buy a cutting board from a company that knows what cutting boards are used for and the troubles people have with them.
Hi, would not have thought of using that Matt under a cutting board. I have some or a reasonable that simile that I used two line shelves in my RV. I'll give this a try. Thanks
❤🌷🌹❤
My kids just leave a bunch of Play-Doh on my counters so they practically have built-in stabilizers 😂. But seriously, sometimes I just take some of their Play-Doh and use it under my board, then toss it afterwards. It's food safe, costs pennies to use (even less if you make your own) and stores well in an airtight container.
The slip-stop shelf liners that are made for RVs work well. It's thin and washable and a 12 foot roll cost $5, so if it gets grungy, just cut yourself another piece. It's also handy for putting under a mixing bowl when you use a hand mixer, or under countertop appliances that tend to move.
All I hear is a lot of whining 😭😭😭
Get the earthquake anti-slip pads or the stuff that's used to stop carpet from slipping,
It's way cheaper
I'm gonna pass. Moist paper towels work fine.
