Equipment Reviews: The Best Food Processor

A food processor can make an astonishing range of recipes faster, easier, and more approachable. In the test kitchen, our longtime favorite has been the Cuisinart Custom 14 14 Cup Food Processor, which has performed well for years, but with new competitors on the market, it was time to see if it was still the best choice.

  1. The updated Kitchen Aid 13 cup is the best with the most features. Included are a dicing kit that is designed to give you square small sized pieces.and more. It also has a storage caddie , that along with the blades, can be easily and neatly stored inside the bowl. I got rid of my Cuisinart after I got this one. Time for Lisa and her crew to retest!

  2. Great review as always. Some questions:
    1. How does this compare to the the Cuisinart 13-cup Core Costum?
    2. Did you make Tahini with this and how did it come out?
    3. When you not ideal for small batches, how small is too small? 2-cups or more are ok ?

  3. This review would have been so much better if you would have said how each processor did on each test. Some of us are more interested in one function than the others. Some processes could be deal breakers, and others we might not care about as much. You put in all the time to get the information, and then gave us a minimal amount of it. The way this was presented, the only information we have is that your opinion hasn't changed and that you also like the Breville.

  4. There is a problem with the video itself, and not about the machine.

Strange word choices are being used by the closed captioning, almost immediately there are random words. I can chalk some of it up to speech to text conversion errors but I think translating into Vietnamese is it a little too far. I recommend starting at the 1:00 mark. This would be very confusing for someone who is deaf or hard of hearing to understand what is going on.

  5. Love your reviews but I’m wondering why you didn’t compare apples to apples as far as the machines go. I saw that you had a magimix in there but it wasn’t the equivalent to the cuisinart, granted it’s a lot more money but at least I’d know if it was worth it. I’m sure the other 9 cup processors might’ve had a 14 or close equivalent. Keeping price down for the appliances isn’t as important as making sure the playing field is level. I can’t decide between magimix and cuisinart and can’t find any direct comparisons. A little disappointed in your choice of processors to review. I trust your reviews so much.
