Here’s a simple fish fry recipe:
Ingredients:
• Fish fillets (any fish): 500 g
• Turmeric powder: 1/2 tsp
• Red chili powder: 1 tsp (adjust to taste)
• Ginger-garlic paste: 1 tsp
• Lemon juice: 1 tbsp.
• Salt: as per taste
• Rice flour or semolina (ravva): 3 tbsp. (for coating)
• Oil: for shallow frying
• Fresh curry leaves: optional (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Clean the Fish:
• Wash the fish fillets thoroughly and pat them dry with a kitchen towel.
2. Marinate the Fish:
• In a bowl, mix turmeric powder, red chili powder, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, and salt.
• Rub this mixture onto the fish fillets evenly.
• Let it marinate for 30 minutes (or longer for deeper flavor).
3. Coat the Fish:
• Spread rice flour or semolina on a plate.
• Lightly coat each marinated fish fillet with the flour/semolina for a crispy texture.
4. Fry the Fish:
• Heat oil in a pan over medium flame.
• Once the oil is hot, add the coated fish fillets.
• Fry until golden brown and crisp on both sides (about 3-4 minutes per side).
5. Serve:
• Remove the fried fish and place it on paper towels to drain excess oil.
• Garnish with fresh curry leaves (optional) and serve hot.
Enjoy your crispy and flavorful fish fry!
