Save the full recipe:

1 loaf French bread
1 ½ cups marinara or pizza sauce
2 cups shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese (kick up the taste with freshly grated cheese)

Optional Toppings
Pepperoni
Chopped fresh basil
Olive oil drizzle
Grated Parmesan cheese
Hot honey

Preheat the oven to 375. Slice the French bread vertically in half (down the middle to make two sides), then slice horizontally to create a top and bottom.

Spread sauce onto the open side of the bread.
Sprinkle cheese evenly on top of the sauce.

Top with whichever toppings you like. I kept it nostalgic like the classic pepperoni and cheese.

Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes, then broil for 2-3 minutes to get some color on the cheese (keep a watchful eye).

Optional: Top with grated Parmesan, olive oil, hot honey, and basil. Let it cool for 5 minutes before serving!
