Fried Bread | Indigenous Recipe | Native American

Fried Bannock! Indigenous Recipe!

I’m not the greatest cook or chef, but I do have some tricks up my sleeve. I’ve watched my mother (who makes the best) over and over again! However, I would not recommend this on a regular basis lol

Hope you enjoy!! 😋🍞

Serves up to 5-6 persons

Recipe:
3 cups flour
1 tbs baking powder (video said TSP oops!)
Pinch of salt (optional)
1 cup of warm water
1/2 cup milk

Mix with spoon. Roll with hand afterwards.
Portion out accordingly. Roll and Flatten.

Pre-heat oil on stove top. Turn down to half when set. Light brown both sides. Shake off excess oil and serve on plate.

  2. I made this in foods class and we made it with milk, butter and a lot less oil
If you want to make it with butter and milk I would suggest you use a pastry cutter to cut in the butter and gradually pour in the milk and only pour milk until it is about to be sticky ♥️
