  1. I’ll have to try the mashed sweet potatoes they look delicious! Usually I boil and then make candied sweet potatoes. Brown sugar, butter in my iron skillet then add my boiled sweet potatoes and candy them. You have to watch them and keep turning to really get them candied so it does take quite alot of your time so the mashed would definitely be a lot simpler. We too eat pork chops and sweet potatoe meal with some vegetable. My husband is funny he likes our meals to have a vegetable that matches so the color on our plates look inviting. Love this video! 🍠

  2. I’ve learned so many “from scratch” ideas from you! Sourdough of course, and everything that can be made from it!
The item I now make since watching you is bone broth. After tasting home made I can’t go back to store bought.
It’s amazing because almost everything is pretty simple to do. I just never was taught. Our youngest daughter who enjoys cooking eagerly try’s new things and has made some delicious dish’s.

  3. It makes me nervous watching you handle large pots of boiling water while having a newborn strapped to you. I know personally of a infant being seriously burned with just a cup of coffee. I am all for baby wearing but not while cooking.

  4. We are in our 70's and our elementary cafeteria served peanut butter mixed with honey on chile bean day. Last week on our first cool, rainy day my husband was excited to hear we were having chile. He thought it was hilarious that I mixed up some honey peanut butter to see if it still tasted as good as it did 60 yrs ago. Oh my word, it was still pretty delicious, so not as weird as some might think! Glad that is something you and yours are passing on.

  5. I was taught by my gran that if you’re ever offered anything for free ALWAYS say yes! Even if you don’t need it you can probably pass it on to someone who can. That way those people will likely remember you next time they have something to pass on and it could be beneficial.

  6. Overjoyed to have found you! All of my children are grown now, but you have inspired me to get a grain mill. I have been keeping a home for over 30 years, but have never milled my own flour. Any recommendations for what grain mill I should purchase? I checked out your Amazon storefront, nut the Nutrimill is out of stock. Your vocation as wife and mother is so inspiring! Thanks so much and God bless!

  7. Hi Lisa! Love your channel and watch all your videos, even though I am 66 and only have to cook for 3 people! One recipe I make on repeat is Apple Sausage Patties. To one pound of sausage add I peeled, grated, and squeezed out apple, 3/4 cup bread crumbs, seasoning if you want (sage, etc.) Form into 3 or 4 Pattie’s, fry in cast iron pan, remove to plate. Make gravy with 2/3 cup milk or cream, some chicken bouillon- mix together well and pour in pan.
Cook till bubbly and a little thickened- pour over patties. This is good with masked potatoes or cauliflower, more gravy on those. Everyone loves! So enjoy everything you do, and can’t wait to see your house and how it’s coming along.❤

  8. I have been watching since you lived on Boone St with four children. Your videos are such a gift, the aesthetics alone are worth the watch. Miriam is beautiful, which of your children do you feel she resembles the most? Thank you, Lisa.
