I would love to try it but at the same time I would love lo have the shells they are the most beautiful of all the shellfish and make highly sought after knife scales and the such
Before you eat them, you need to add just a little more BUTTER.

Long time back, I lived in a California fishing village, and ate fresh (full-sized) abalone steak. Amazing!
We can get these pretty cheap here in southern Australia. I love them lightly chargrilled and served with some olive oil, salt, pepper and diced chives 🙂

Abalone is the best. My recipe is to shuck them, beat the hell out of them, salt and pepper, cook hot and fast, butter, garlic and enjoy. Goes great with dungeness crab.
