The more you know …… 💁🏼♀️ Many Native American tribes refused to give up their slaves after it was abolished & required to forcefully remove them from their custody. They were enslaving their own people before anyone immigrated to the new land. Worse yet they extinguish an entirely separate race of peoples to steal this land along with the Meso Americans. {The Mound Peoples RIP we will not forget}
Not only this but only 1% of individuals that lived in America at that time participated. While 6% of the nations people fought with their LIVES to end it & about 2% of the population DIED for the freedom of 4 million slaves. Many of those that fought on the side of the confederacy did so because of a draft and not to due to them “championing” the ideals. Since then a large portion, roughly half of today’s white population in the United States immigrated here after slavery was abolished.
(Between 1865 and 1915 – 25 million white immigrant {So a quarter of the entire population of the US came in} With a HUGE portion coming afterwards {Between 1930 and 1950 another 10 million} -> this means that around half or possibly even more than half of the white individuals you see in the US today immigrated here AFTER slavery. Making the chance of running into a decedent of {white} slave owner closer 0.5 of the WHITE pop (not total)
Roughly 4 million slaves were freed after the Confederate war. Yet in modern day Africa today alone there remains about 9 million slaves being held by black slave owners. {To put this in perspective on how large of a number this is. If you included the entire 400 years of the AST in every single direction slaves were shipped off to AND including even after it was abolished in America that number would still only be slightly higher than today’s African slave population. That being 12 million ->> TOTAL IN 400 YRS!!!! Compared to the 9 million TODAY in Africa.
(Extra fact. The first legal slave owner in the United States was Anthony Johnson a black man)
Heads up -> Don’t skip 4th grade math or you won’t have any idea how significant these numbers are.
Idc if this is healthy or not this looks really tasty🤩
🍪 cookie ❤❤
Yummy
😍 great recipe, going to try ,thanks💛
These look great! Would you happen to have, by any chance, an estimate of the calories per cookie?
Again, thanks for sharing!~
