  1. Word from the wise, be VERY careful when handling habaneros with bare hands. Many years ago, after making a chili to mess up my rooomates, and having taken great care to wash my hands several times thoroughly, made the innocent mistake of giving the family jewels a little scratch before jumping into the shower to get ready for work. It wasn't but a few seconds that the BURN started burning that most sensitive space. The pain was unreal, a full on cold shower direct to the area just made it all feel like an application of 'icy hot' muscle rub ointment. I was almost brought to tears…and then I was, as I tried wiping the budding tears my eyes started to burn with an intensity one might expect from pulling a Trump and staring into a total eclipse of the sun! Ferocious pain, blinding pain, forced abstinence pain; pain that I can't underscore enough of the type you wouldn't want to inflict on your worst enemy, but maybe just a roommate or two. I was told the burning ring was exceptionally painful as well! So please do be careful.
