Impressed that you actually gave us the entire recipe.
It's a scientific fact that alcohol does not cook all the way out of food.
Alcohol takes a long time for even a fraction of it to cook off, so at only 35-40 minutes cook time, you'll get about 92-94% of the alcohol.
It should be against the law to allow kids to eat spiked foods, but why somebody would want to train their children to enjoy alcohol is beyond me.

Looks yummaliscious. Stale banana bread makes good bread pudding too if you never tried it. But for christmas, I'm making your donut bread pudding. OMG soooo goood!!!
I wonder of the sugar ratio is off.. 3 cups of sugar altogether seems like an awful lot of sugar! Then another 2 Cups of sugar on top of that! 5 cups of sugar!! 😲😳🙀😖

The old recipe I always had was the same with the exception of raisins.
That's way too much sugar you could cut that in half of it would be plenty

I didn’t know baking pans came in 13 X 12. It looks to be 13 X 9. The bread pudding looks delicious! I’m going to give this a try.

I love to use a cinnamon raisin bread and make my custard and mix really well with clean hands. I don't like pouring it on the top cause in my mind it doesn't get absort properly cause I want every bit of it soaked.
Don't be fooled by the all the 5 star reviews on Paula's recipes. A lot of them are 5 star but have the comments like "looks good". Clearly they never even made the recipe! Others change the amounts or even ingredients and still gave it 5 stars.
Shame on the Deen team for allowing these 5 stars on comments like these.

I love bread pudding. Grandma always made this for us at Christmas time. Merry Christmas Paula and family.
As a child I would stay with my aunt in the summer. She would make bread pudding for me. Thank you for this recipe. Since her recipe included raisins I think that I will include rum soaked raisins in mine 😁

I’m confused. Every bread pudding recipe I’ve seen you let the bread soak in the egg liquid for awhile, even overnight. So why so short a time here?
