HOMEMADE CORNBREAD (for dressing)
Ingredients I Used:
2 cups yellow self-rising cornmeal
1 cup self-rising flour
2 Β½ cups whole milk
Β½ cup of vegetable oil
Β½ stick of margarine or butter
3 large eggs
ΒΌ cup granulated sugar
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Add cornmeal, flour and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Stir to blend. Next add milk, then beat with a whisk until lumps are gone. In a large cast iron skillet/pan melt butter then pour in vegetable oil. Once butter is melted inside the oil, pour into batter leaving a small amount of oil inside the skillet/pan. Mix and blend well, then bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown. Approximately 8 servings.

Sugar is for cakes not cornbread. My cornbread is simple and awesome. 2 cups of self rising cornmeal. Not cornbread mix. 1 egg, 1/4 cup butter. No margarine please. Stir in milk. Bake at 425 for 28 minutes. I use a muffin pan with each cup buttered. There is more crust that way. You are right about dry cornbread. I do miss my Three Rivers Cornmeal. Now cornbread and beans or just cornbread in milk is a fine meal.
2 and half cups milk. Not sugar. Cause mamma you sweet enough.
What happened to your Sandfaydontplay channel?
I don't have a Cast Iron Skillet Sandra Fay
Yum I've never had cornbread before honestly but it looks fabulous! Gotta try it! Looks like such an easy to implement recipe, and well done with the video!
Wow, nice need to try it out

Ooooh π I believe you π€
YUMMY!
My mom always served cornbread with ham and bean soup
All I need is some salisbury steak w/ gravy, cream potatoes, a good helping of collard greens and a slice of your cornbread on my plate.
Looks good Sandra. Only thing I'd do differently was I'd use a whole stick of butter in it and then throw in a big dollop of mayo in it!
Looks good Sandfay! Bon Appetit π½
