Fresh, fluffy, homemade pita bread! What’s not to love? And MUCH better than store bought! So, here is my recipe showing you how to make pita bread.

Ingredients: (6 large or 8 small pita breads)
500g bread flour (plain flour doesn’t give you the same fluffy texture as bread flour, but it will work anyway)
350-400ml water (you may not need it all!)
1 sachet instant yeast
1 TSP sugar (to activate your yeast)
2 TSP salt
Oil to grease your pan (I used olive)

I recommend using a heavy, thick based pan to cook your pita bread. I used cast iron, but any other heavy bottomed pan should work well too 🙂

You’ll find it easier to stretch and shape your dough if you let it rest for 10-15 mins after shaping into individual balls; the dough won’t spring back and is much easier to work with!
