This pit is gaining popularity fast. as always, good review Tom
Nice review Tom! Can’t wait to see you cook on it !
Buying a new grill or smoker sure has become complicated.
When I buy a grill or smoker I expect it to last me several decades. It will be interesting to see how long these hold up and how long Ninja has spare parts available.
Have you ever thought about getting some thermocouples and using those to measure your temperatures?
6 seconds of no sound might be decreasing views.
Tom, so glad you have gotten your hands on one of these. I was waiting for an honest review instead of the infomercials that are floating around. I look forward to seeing you give this a thorough workover in coming videos. My comments right now are that, while not super large, it is the same size a "classic" Weber gas grills from 1986 to 2005 and their current larger Spirit grill. Adequate for couples and smaller families at least.
The one big negative that gives me pause is that porcelain coated regular steel firebox – with only a 3-year warranty. Those of us fans of Weber grills know that Weber's top of the line Summit in past years suffered an Achilles heel using this construction, as the firebox was very prone to dangerous rust-through as the porcelain expanded, contracted, and then cracked. Weber finally fixed this on the newest Summit going with much better cast aluminum as they still do on their other gas grills (Genesis and Spirit). While I think this Flex Flame is VERY innovative – LOVE that convection fan – I have a feeling the firebox is going to become an issue on these. Look forward to more solid, honest reviews and interesting cooks!
Here's hoping the first pork butt is awesome and the ribs just melt in your mouth!
I think it's Awesome and I would take it over any grill you have for sure. I'm glad ninja sent it to you so I had a video worth watching on your channel again. 👍
Got mine from HD. HD model has black lid. Very easy to assemble. Very well built. First cook was a whole chicken. Came out very crispy and juicy. Also made some smoked Queso dip, everyone loved it. Next cook will be some wings.
Do and of these new grills feel as sturdy as a Weber?
Ninja wants you to upgrade to the “Flex Flame XL Connect” next year… honestly, with so many wireless probes available (think ninja just released one), ninja probably didn’t think adding probe ports to be necessary. I’ve never used the probes on the woodfire lol
I was waiting for you to get one of these. I’ve seen many reviews of this grill but I find your reviews to be the most reliable. Thanks for doing this.
Doesn’t do anything for me buts that’s because I’m a Weber Kettle fan and enjoy the charcoal process. That being said if I lived in an apartment or condo that only allowed gas grills I would seriously consider this.
At 1,000 bucks it should have come with stainless steel grates
Hi Tech except for Bluetooth or WiFi connectivity. Thanks Tom!
You will have to try smokin pecan pellets in it.
Thank Tom for the review. Can’t wait for your first cook review.
Maybe you can mod that left shelf to fold down. Great review!
I was waiting for you to review this Tom. Next is a cook
A lot of gizmos that are going to break over the years. I like my Weber spirit or genesis with rock solid reliability and parts support.
Thanks for the detailed review. I look forward to seeing how it works with food.
Love my ninja products! Too expensive for me, but cool nonetheless
So far it looks good…..we shall see how it goes with cooks!!!! Look at smokin joes pit bbq he did a brisket at 225 in 51/2 hours.
