but… thats seasoning. why would you strip that???
Very heated
Where have I been that ive only just started hearing about Bar Keepers friend? Thankfully my local dollarama has it. I need to try it out asap.
What about weak uric acid?
Now tell me how to fix non-stick pans when stuff sticks to it…
Lisa McManus is the Mcman!
Just pour vinegar and let it sit for an hour π
Thank you!
…Or just put it in the oven and turn on the cleaning cycle.
I simply use oven cleaner aerosol
Excellent product!!!!
I use that stuff and my stainless works better than my non stick
The way I do it is practically the same method you use when you make pan sauces. Just poor some water in the pan while its still hot an scrape the bottom with a spatula until it's clean. If the pans already cold just reheat it until you see some smoke and then pour water in. After that most of the grease just washed right off with a sponge. It doesn't replace a thorough clean with polish but it's a neat trick
Just use baking soda and lemon to scrub the pan. Works faster and is cheaper.
Don't like Barkeeper's Friend. It leaves a weird smell behind. Bon Ami if you can find it.
I got the "copper" non stick pans and regret it all the time. The amount of crap stuck to non stick pans is heartbreaking
Even after going to school for chemistry I am still amazed to learn all the interesting ways we discovered properties of useful chemicals.
I use a stainless steel fiber pad, soap and water and takes care of everything, no quimics
You just get the pan hot on the stop top then throw a cup of boiling water from the kettle in. The heat expands the steel and the water deglazes it. Use a wooden spoon on any stubborn bits
Barkeepers Friend is the bomb. πππ
RINS RINSE RINSE. Barkeepers works great but you have to get rid of the oxalic acid. In larger amounts it's toxic.
cup brush insert into drill is easier
I just used this on my wife's Cast iron skillet. Now, she wants a divorce.
If you can't get Barkeepers Friend…Just use Fisherman's Friend. Same thing.
How to remove the seasoning from stainless using chemicals that aren't food safe per the label: "Bravo! Encore! Incredible!"
How to clean a well seasoned cast iron: "If this touches a drop of soap it's time to start over."
Worked on my Revere ware like a charm!!π
Orβ¦. Here is a trick. Don't let the pan fully cool down. Add whatever liquid, and bring the heat up.
Or you can just deglaze the pan while itβs really hot after youβre done cooking
Use a grill screen or sandpaper
It only works ok for me , 3 star
I donβt know about rhubarb, but as Italian, I can tell you nothing cleans a pan as cooking tomato sauce in it. Perfect every time.
Zud works beautifully as well.
Yes, totally agreed. My pan became brown and after using soap, vinegar, sodium bicarbonate (all those homemade remedies) I finally tried bar keepers friend and voila, itβs gone on first try, my pan is shining again.
I'm so tired of cleaning my pots and no matter how hard I scrub they're still left with these dull smudgy looking spots, I keep thinking maybe its the stainless steel that's cheap. I'm going to try this, I'm in NYC and hope I can find it – thank you! π€π
Love me some bar keepers friend
Does the powder smell like the liquid version cause that thing stinks! I wish someone had mentioned it when I saw videos on it. My bathroom still smells faintly of it and that was almost 4 days ago. Iβll stick to using it on the pans I have like this ππ
I particularly enjoy Lisa's presentations. They're all good.
