It’s went to Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 this winter and it was the only thing I drank. It’s sooo good!
This is a really great base recipe for a traditional piña colada. Once you get this recipe right, then you can add fresh coconut milk to create an even creamier, smooth cocktail.
👌🏻
This is the most pretentious yet yucky sounding recipe for a piña colada i have yet seen.
Thanks for this recipe! This was the BEST pina colada I have ever made! This is a drink I LOVE. Now I have the book "How to Cocktail" ATK ROCKS! I used a 12oz wine glass for serving. PERFECTION! I also followed the recipe using ounces (weight measurement) from the book.
If I found a “floater” in my drink I’d start throwing punches.
It looks very good …….will definitely try. Thanks for sharing…..#cookitsimpleandeasy
I didn't see the channel name and said " this sound like America's Test Kitchen". Then I looked at the channel name. These guys are awesome. The next gathering we have is going to be Pina Colada theme. I will be using this recipe. Cheers!
I wish I could drink this…but I’m allergic to pineapples 🍍
I jsut made thiis. can confirnm ittt is realllty good!!!!!!!!!!!
Now that's a drink I could make.
For those who wonder, in metric system :
-450g coconut cream
-180g white rhum
-750g frozen pineaple
-90g simple sirup
-250ml of ice cubes
from what i have tried :
-you can skip the ice if all your ingredients are cold ( less than 15°C/59°F)
-you can use an homemade coconut milk instead of coconut cream (mix 500ml of hot water with 125g of dried coconut)
-if you decide to froze a fresh pineaple, you can use the peel to make pineaple sirup or tepache
I thought a floater was something else…
Coconut cream okay, which brand is the best 0:26
Brad says use Coco Lopez, so I use Coco Lopez
Interesting what happens to a floater when poured onto a frozen drink: Apparently, a good portion of it sinks. I don't think that this is a bad thing. This way, with your straw at the bottom of the glass, you'll get hit with blasts of rum both at the beginning and at the end of the drink.
Substituted frozen ripe kiwi for the pineapple, half and half for the coconut cream and skipped the rum. Splendida for the sugar syrup. No good. Terrible recipe. HA! Joke!
Canned pineapple had too much sugar….and we added simple syrup—What?
Anyone who just wants the recipe, skip to 1:57
Can this be a series?
I said it before, and I will say it again: ATK has very good looking men.
So coconut plus pineapple plus rum plus simple syrup equals “three” ingredients?
That stuff looked more like jizz than coconut, I nearly gagged.
Yasssss!!!! Please let this be a series love drink recipes
Thanks
Hmm. They have a rum drink on page 151. Kismet!
I pour pineapple juice into ice cube trays. Then I don't need to add any ice at all. I do use Coco Lopez cream of coconut. It's the good stuff unlike the squeeze bottle which does seem like suntan lotion.
This was America's test kitchen??
That’s almost like I’ve been making my piña colada’s for the last 37 years. I don’t add simple syrup, it becomes a little too sweet for my taste. So I get to drink my very own picture of them. 🤣😂🤣🤪
Coco Lopez or gtfo
Did not know, that is what the signature drink of 🇵🇷.
Hold on, you said cream of coconut is too sweet, but then you added simple syrup?
Yummy 😋 I’m already tipsy 🥴
This a Drink i like to try
Coconut milk is equal parts coconut and water, not milk.
I want one! Looked so good. I used to make piñas with condensed milk, coconut cream, rum and pineapple juice.
Simple syrup…. all sugar !
Use Lopez coconut and any rum you like !
Say it with me PINYA COLADA, not PINA COLADA
👩🦳👩🦳👩🦳🗽🇺🇸😉👩💻👩💻👩💻👏👍🍹
Looks great 👍😋
Huh, I would've thought that coquito was the official drink of PR?
granted its more of a holiday drink….
Love this drink 😻
Everything you said was like you were reading my mind. I'm not even that much into Piña Coladas but a man should know how to make them.
