✅Ingredients
• 4 thick cut pork chops
• olive oil
• salt
• pepper
✅Instructions
00:06 – How to buy thick cut pork chops
1️⃣ 00:30 – Rub about a tablespoon of olive oil over each of your pork chops. Season all sides generously with salt. Pork needs a heavy amount of salt to bring out the flavor. Salt with a heavy hand when it comes to a thick pork chop. Season lightly with freshly ground pepper as well.
2️⃣ 01:36 – Heat an oven-safe heavy skillet over high heat. Preheat an oven to 400 degrees.
3️⃣ 01:50 – Sear the pork chops for 2 minutes on each side.
4️⃣ 02:03 – Transfer skillet immediately to the oven and cook until the internal temperature of the chop reaches 145 degrees, about 15 minutes.
5️⃣ 02:26 – Let rest 5 to 10 minutes before serving.

doesn't all that salt make the chops taste too salty?
Salt and pepper are not seasonings. Lol you add those in post. Haha
What is the oven temperature setting?
Holy crap! That’s a bone in thick cut chop. Usually they are boneless. That looks delicious Stay At Home Chef! Is that a Center cut chop? 😜🤔
I marinade first for about 3-4 hours.
Sea each side on medium high heat 2-3 minutes.
Never fails me.
Love the center cut for all the fat.
Thank you

Can you use thick boneless pork loin chops? I bought some from Costco. Super Thick, but they are loin. Please let me know. Thanks!
Way way too much salt! I consider myself a season cook and followed exactly as you did but was terrible. I used what I usually use on steak and such with your techniques tonight and it was excellent!
Nice but to much salt and not enough seasoning. I actually just bought 2 from whole foods and wanted to know how to cook them properly
I was always taught pork was a salty meat
Thanks cooking right now
About to try this. Hope I don't mess it up because I'd have to cook another meal
I agree with the 145 degree internal temp. But I have found that allowing the chop to cook to that level will, after allowing the chop to sit covered for 15 minutes, raise the internal temp by about 15 degrees. 160 degrees tends to dry the meat too much. I remove the chop from the oven when an internal temp of about 130 degrees is reached which will then rise to about 145 degrees, which is tender, safe, juicy and perfect.
YOU SOUND LIKE A FUCKIN ALIEN
Excuse me? Man or woman behind the counter? There's like 72 other genders they could be and that's assuming they're even human.
Is it cooked through or still pink?
Do you have to use a heavy skillet or will a regular pan work then moved to a flat pan in the oven?
Oven temperature?
You can also pour lime juice over them and let them sit to room temperature. Wrap them in aluminum foil after seasoning . Cook on grill at around 300 for 20 minutes. Turn flame on high to around 450 and sear both sides a couple minutes. Remember to keep some lime juice in the wrapped chops when doing step 1. Yours looks delicious 😋
Picked up some very thick pork chops at Costco recently and decided to try this recipe. They came out fabulous! Super juicy and tender… They tasted amazing. So simple and easy!
Thanks
Do you think I can use a regular pan and cook in a glass pan in the oven? Awww i need a good pan. What a bummer. Who wants to buy me one for Christmas this year😜
Try a rosemary brown sugar dry brine.
